Rooipan Guest House is located on the R360, halfway between Upington and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, offering an ideal stop over where guests can expect comfort and warm hospitality.
Self-catering accommodation is offered in a garden cottage situated next to the swimming pool. The cottage can accommodate up to 3 guests and comprises a bathroom and a kitchenette, dining and lounge area. There are 2 private rooms situated in the main house. These 2 rooms have access to a shared bathroom and an extra toilet. The cottage has a private entrance and guests have access to braai facilities and Wi-Fi. Meals are served on request prior to booking, and are served in the dining room. Example - scrumptious breakfasts, real coffee and freshly squeezed juice. Guest Room 1 and Guest Room 2 can also be rented out together, to accommodate up to 5 guests.
Your friendly hosts will regale you with historic tales of the area. Relax in the garden with a book or sip on a glass of wine from the Lower Orange region. Guests can enjoy long walks in the area which is flooded with indigenous Flora and Fauna.

Things that we loved...
The warm welcome; lovely accommodation with all the wonderful touches like smellies, hairdryer, makeup remover, body lotion, fridge stocked with wine and drinks; etc etc; the lovely outside area where one could relax and enjoy the sun; the working farm around us; the sounds of the animals; the wonderful red sand and dunes which one could explore; the working salt pan with explanation; the excellent knowledge of the area and wonderful stories; the photos; the excellent meals and great wine; and the opportunity to engage with locals who have lived on the farm and in the area for generations. Also the excellent English spoken by our hosts!
A perfect interlude between Upington and Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. An unsurpassed standard of warmth and quality await you!!!

Great weather. Stayed at Modern Executive Apartment in Schröder street. Beautiful, peaceful and safe place. I enjoyed the friendly people of Upington and the nice restaurants. Mr D also delivered promptly. Will be back again.
Has everything you'd need to top up or get on your way to Namibia, Botswana, or the far west coast. Amazing stat-over options, and amazing people.
Orange river, wine farms and wide open spaces
Nice place, great places to visit and wine tasting lovely.
The scenery.
The people seem friendlier and more polite than the city folks. The atmosphere seems relatively low-stressed.
Great mall and friendly people in Upington.
Upington is one of my favorite towns in South Africa. It is pristine, clean, people are friendly and helpful. Lots of things to do. Plenty accommodation to choose from. A perfect stop-over to and from Namibia.
Good to visit my birth town and see the growth.
