Bushbuck Hills Eco Farm is a magnificent game farm nestled in a series of hills surrounding the North-West town of Swartruggens. To the north, the Pilanesburg mountains and game reserve is within sight, while a mere 60 km drive will take you to the gates of Sun City. The farm is just two hours away from Gauteng on the N4 highway.
With no dangerous animals on the farm, Bushbuck Hills Eco Farm is a paradise for nature lovers. The farm offers various walking and hiking trails and an abundance of bird species for bird watchers. Utility quad bikes are also allowed on the farm whilst mountain bike and 4x4 enthusiasts can also enjoy themselves on the various tracks.
At Bushbuck Hills Eco Farm you can get close to kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, zebra, gemsbok, eland, red hartebeest, waterbuck, mountain reedbuck, blesbok, warthog and all the other small game.
Bushbuck Hills Game Farm offers a variety of accommodation options for small to medium sized groups, whether it be for a corporate break-away, conference, management workshop, year-end function, or social gathering. The game farm is also ideal for family reunions or a group of friends seeking to celebrate a weekend in nature with all the everyday necessities available for comfort.
The farm offers two well appointed farmhouses, sleeping 10 and 13 people respectively, a Cottage sleeping 5 people and a bush camp with rondawels & chalets.
Huis Kiepersol, the main farmhouse lies at the entrance to the farm with a thatched lapa, swimming pool and close-by drinking hole, whilst Huis Karee is nestled between the mountain koppies in the middle of the farm with a huge, traditional, private “stoep” area with braai facilities overlooking the extraordinary bushveld mountains.
The mountain log cabin is ideal for the nature lover or adventurer since it is situated in the majestic cliffs. With no electricity supplied, you have to stoke the “donkey” for a hot shower!
The Bush Camp facility consists of en-suite four-bed chalets, two-bed chalets and a six-bed chalet. It boasts an entertainment area with a lapa and a pool, overlooking the farm surroundings.
After a short walk of 200m to Bushbuck dam, one can gaze upon game such as Kudu, Impala, Blesbuck, Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest and Waterbuck.
PLEASE NOTE: The Mountain Cabin will require a 4x4 vehicle to get there.
The bush camp conference venue accommodates up to 40 delegates, cinema style, for conferences, workshops and meetings. The bush camp provides a private breakaway in the bush and the surrounding garden is ideal for informal breakaway sessions. Bushbuck Hills offers a well equipped and spacious conference facility with experienced staff on hand to cater for your formal and/ or informal meeting requirements. Small banquets, weddings and themed evenings with a difference are also offered.
Dinners, lunches and tea can be enjoyed on the patio or in the informal kitchen and dining room area, with cocktails at the boma, waterhole or on the patio overlooking the swimming pool.
The Farm offers different 4 x 4 routes for both the novices and experienced drivers to explore the farm in an exciting and challenging way. The mountain terrain of the farm is a superior 4×4 trail destination with some spectacular views. We offer a unique quad biking experience with adventure, unforgettable game viewing and beautiful scenery – just bring your own quad!
Beginners or casual riders mountain bike trails are clearly marked and rated on the farm.
There are different hiking trails at Bushbuck Hills. The trails are a series of loops for local weekend visitors as well as a 2-day fully-fledged hike for hikers.
