The Klein Karoo offers nothingness, which is increasingly valuable, in terms of space, silence and solitude. Urban live in stressed societies… and the Karoo offers a healing experience. Warm days culminate into breath-taking sunsets and the magic of the night sky will leave you in awe.

Van Wyksdorp is a charming, small, quiet hideaway nestled between the Langeberg and Rooiberg mountains. The area can only be accessed by good gravel roads which indicates just how removed we are from the hustle and bustle. This establishment is also pet friendly on request.

Our farm offers an opportunity to live in nature where the only sounds are those of birds, bees, crickets, frogs and the like. If you listen closely you may hear the call of the fish eagle that lives in our valley. At night the owl will return your ‘whoo whoo’ with an eager reply. Light a fire and enjoy a glass of your favorite while the sun slowly sets in the distance.

There are four self-contained cottages, each with magnificent views of the Rooiberg and Langeberg mountains. With interior finishes handmade by owners Graeme and Babette who has given a unique and creative flair to each cottage. Simplicity and style meet in these newly renovated workers cottages and no attention to detail was spared.

Each cottage consist of a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge with fire place, a retro style bathroom with a shower, main bedroom with a queen bed and second bedroom with either two single beds of family unit with a single and bunk bed.

We have a back-packers unit that sleeps 6 for those who are on a tight budget. This is a ‘dorm’ type room with shared facilities. The room has a fridge and coffee/tea making facility.

Just sit back and enjoy the peaceful surrounds or take a long hike in the hills.
