Rocky Road Backpackers is set in a 5 hectare small-holding amidst indigenous forest and open grazing pastures located in The Crags, which is +/- 20 km's (16 miles) east of Plettenberg Bay, Rocky Road is the gateway between the country's Western Cape and Eastern Cape Provinces and is ideally situated to provide superb accommodation for travellers. We are 15 minutes away from the World's Highest Bungy at Bloukrans Bridge and a mere 10 minute drive down a spectacular mountain pass to the unspoiled Natures Valley beach in Tsitsikamma National Park, frequently described as the Jewel of The Garden Route
Whether you are doing the World's Highest Bungy, sky-diving or hiking the Otter Trail in Tsitsikamma National Park, we have the accommodation, facilities and friendly atmosphere for you.
Our luxury tents on covered timber decks comprise double or twin beds and provide you with the opportunity to camp in style, overlooking the indigenous forests. Our forest bathroom allows you to bathe in seclusion and continue to enjoy the forest views.
Rocky Road is far from the daily bustle of urban living. From our well maintained gardens we enjoy spectacular views of the Tsitsikamma Mountain range as well as Peak Formosa, the highest in the range. Our adjoining 3 hectare forest has an easy mini-trail to view our streams, waterfall and rock pool one of the many great spots to chill-out.

Your options for Accommodation range from fully equipped double or twin Luxury Tents which overlook the indigenous forest to cottages, timber cabins and hostel style dorms. You are also welcome to pitch your own tent in our attractive garden. Our guest facilities provide you with everything you need to feel at home: we can even cook for you if you wish!
Our in house adventure centre, Rocky's Adventures will help you make the most of our nearby ocean, scenic sandy beaches, rugged mountains, river gorges and estuaries, as well as numerous varied wild-life attractions. Whether you want to bungy, sky-dive, zipline over waterfalls, explore some of our hiking trails (such as the famous Otter Trail) or visit many of the alternative attractions on our activity list, there is something for everyone
