We are extremely proud of our well designed Sandstone Lodge that consists of 16 en-suite bedrooms.
In Room Facilities:Most suites have fireplaces or Queen Ann stoves, while the executive suites are equipped with underfloor heating.
Area Information:Moolmanshoek is situated in the Witteberg mountain range between the towns of Ficksburg and Rosendal, Eastern Free State, South Africa. The reserve covers an area of 3300 hectares and is a Natural Heritage site (No 199).
Property Facilities:Guests can make use of our billiard room, honesty bar, library and the upstairs sun room, where an amazing view of the reserve and mountains can be enjoyed.
Attractions:Moolmanshoek is situated a mere 3½ hours drive from Johannesburg, 4 hours drive from Pretoria, 2½ hours from Bloemfontein. The closest town is Rosendal (20 km away), while Ficksburg, which is on the Lesotho border, is 35 km away.

It was really a pleasant stay with such beauty around you.
We quite enjoyed our stay, room was well appointed, fireplace stocked and lit in the evenings. Underfloor heating kept the cold at bay. Food was good, although I would have preferred to have a choice for the evening meal and not only a set menu. However, when I made the booking there was a space for requesting a special diet which I did not use. The hosts were very engaging, making sure we had everything we needed. A nice touch was the ladies basket in the bathroom, just in case you forgot something. Overall a very nice experience, beautiful scenery, beautiful horses and friendly staff. I can definately recommend them and will most probably visit them again when I am in that region.
My stay at Moolmanshoek was amazing food excellent room beautiful. The personnel very helpful and friendly. The environment beautiful. I plan my next trip to Moolmanshoek in April 2019.
