Halfway There Game Lodge is situated on a 800 ha of unspoilt bushveld within the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve.
We have four chalets, tastefully decorated in an old Hollywood theme, such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn and James Dean. We also have 6 newly added luxury tent houses.
We are a 4 star lodge offering relaxing, luxury accommodation under African skies. We have a wide range of animals such as elephants, rhinos, lions, buffalos, giraffes, eland, kudu, wildebeest, and zebra.

We were met by friendly personel - clean accommodation with a stunning view of the bushveld. The roar of the lion at 2:30 on Sunday morning was one of the highlights. Although there were loadshedding we hardly noticed it because of the quick shift over to generators which didnt disturbed the tranquility. Can't wait for our next stay. Thank you Afristay for a smooth booking.

I enjoyed my stay there with my fiancee celebrating her birthday from the 18th to the 20th of February 2019, what a breathtaking experience and unforgettable adventure with such warm hospitality, also our warmest gratitude to Frank who made sure that we enjoy our stay. We highly recommend it more especially for peace of mind and tranquility.
My daughter and I visited the lodge for 3 nights/ 4 days during February 2019 and were treated like royalty by Alma, Nadia, Jerry, Jojo and Jerry. The accommodation (chalet James Dean) was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and service outstanding. If you are looking to spoil yourself be sure to visit this little gem in Dinokeng. Also, the trip isn’t complete without a game drive with “Oom Wim” next door who’s got a wealth of knowledge about the reserve and animals.

Excellent. My only issue was restaurant and bar a bit confusing over times.
Everything else was great. Always ready to help especially Alma. First class service.
We had a very pleasant stay at Halway There Game Lodge.
We stayed in one of the tents which was clean, well equipped, spacious and warm.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfasts were tasty and there was a nice variety to choose from.
We had a problem finding the place and they were kind enough to send somebody to collect us.
Instead of using Halfway There Game Lodge try Posh Restaurant and your GPS should find it.
Overall we had a pleasant relaxing getaway.

Hiking.
Game drive, the stay at the lodge and the Mystic Monkeys and Feathers Zoo.
The range of animals and the map that was available.
Game Drives and self-drive routes were really cool. We enjoyed it and did not find it as bad as the previous reviews said.
The animals were a little scarce after the many rains, but we saw 9 Jackal in 2 days which is not something that happens often.
We will definitely be back.
The self drive - especially the 4x4 route.
I enjoyed it most because it was a quick break and not too far from JHB to travel and it does have the big 5.
The Nyani Lodge natural relaxation situation and Mongena Game Lodge the nature itself of animals. Location and directions were convenient and easy to get.
The game viewing on the Mongena game drive was superb!
Fresh air not far from the city and a nice getaway from the hussles of the city .
