Lovingly restored, Chartfield Guesthouse is nestled in this quaint seaside village where the pace and charm is reminiscent of a bygone era while every modern convenience is provided for.Almost all of our rooms offer unrivalled views over the sea and Kalk Bay harbour. Large and private, allow the cool ocean breeze to whisper through your open windows bringing with it the faint sounds and maritime scents of the village below.

Property Facilities:
Chartfield has an out door swimming pool with pool lounges for relaxation. The lounge and patio is available for leisure time and our friendly staff serve beverages from 7:15am to 9:00pm. They are also able to help with office and touring needs.
Should you need to combine business with pleasure conference facilities are available with every modern convenience.

Area Information:
The historic Fisherman's Village of Kalk Bay offers a variety of antique, boutique and craft shops that line the cobbled lanes of Main Road. With Silvermine Mountain as the backdrop and the harbour with the fishing boats lining the horizon makes one of the spectacular spots on the Southern Peninsula. Excellent Restaurants and Bars gives you a top choice in your culinary experience. Harbour House and Brass Bell being some of the favourites.

In Room Facilities:
Decorated in an understated, comfortable and uncluttered style, contemporary sea house luxury awaits you, far from the cares of the world. All our rooms are with en-suite bathroom and furnished with king size beds and flat screen TV with 8 DSTV channels, except the family room has no TV.

Attractions:
From June till mid-October, whales visit the bay, which you can view from the comfort of our veranda, in the calm waters of your harbour entrance.
Kalk Bay theatre has various shows running throughout the year and many shops and restaurants.
South Africa's only shore-based colony if Jackass penguins can be visited at Boulders Beach in the Naval port of Simons Town, 20mins away.
Cape Point nature reserve with funicular.
Silvermine trails and Cape Floral Kingdom vegetation.
Muizenberg Surfers corner and Art village.
Winelands, Scenic Champmans Peak Drive, 35mins from Cape Town

- Rooms that are not occupied by 18h00 will be seen as a NO SHOW, unless prior arrangements have been made.
- R 600, - will be deducted from the credit card if the room key is lost or not returned upon departure.

Children up to the age of 6 years stay for free when sleeping in the parents bed. Cot is available for R100.- per night.
Children up to the age of 10 years pay R350.- per night for the extra bed includes breakfast.

I stayed in the Star of the Sea room at the Chartwell Guest House for five days. The accommodation was wonderful with a beautiful view of the Kalk Bay harbour. The staff are very well-trained, professional, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is a real treat and loved our stay there. We would recommend it highly.

We loved every minute of our stay at Chartfield. It's within walking distance of all the great restaurants, quaint shops and the local train station, so we had little need for our hire car. Our room was very comfortable with a stunning view of the bay...it was hard to close the blinds. No words can aptly describe the breakfast; it was healthy, fresh and undeniably memorable. The service was fantastic, enough to meet your needs without being overbearing. We will definitely be back!
