Situated in the heart of the Northern Cape, surrounded by spectacular landscapes of vineyards and the mighty Orange River, Kalahari Gateway Hotel is a modern hotel that offers luxury and outstanding service en route to the Namaqualand and 40 km from the Augrabies Falls National Park. Guests can book a sophisticated indoor room, an outdoor pool room or a self-catering unit, all fully air-conditioned for comfort. The rooms have comfortable beds with en-suite bathrooms, and they are equipped with TVs with selected DStv channels, Wi-Fi access, electronic safes, bar fridges and tea and coffee facilities. In addition, the self-catering rooms each have a kitchen with a stove and a microwave and a private braai area. Kalahari Gateway Hotel’s atmosphere is relaxed and serene and guests can enjoy a delicious cocktail at the tropical pool area or a scrumptious meal in the A la carte restaurant or find tranquillity next to the koi ponds. The lapa with its braai facilities is a great setting for a small function, work meal, information braai, or guests can just relax outside on the thatched-roof wooden deck. Parking is available.

Fickle and the staff at the Hotel were awesome. They really did everything to make our stay pleasant. The restaurant has a menu that satisfies even the very picky palette. Food is prepared fresh and therefore you wait long for your food. The waiting is worth it. Portions are huge and the food is really great. Rooms are clean and big. Comfortable beds. Maybe a curtain at the main door could help as the blinds at the rooms door are out dated and don't operate that easy. We stayed in the pool rooms. Pool is great. It would be a great improvement if the light switches were in the room and in the reception area. Not nice to try and get past the blinds to get all the lights and especially the toilet light on and off.
As this is a small town with not much to so after 6, the Hotel offers enough to do with a nice sushi bar, restaurant, Vslots and the pool. We highly recommend this Hotel for over stay in Kakamas. Maybe stay 3 days and visit the great Northern Cape.
The hotel lived up to its image as an oasis indeed, from the friendly staff and owner to the inviting pool at the end of a very hot day, a delicious dinner and a great breakfast to see us through to Augrabies and all the way to Springbok. Our rooms on the poolside courtyard were very nice. Secure parking for the lazy-to-offload all the luggage much appreciated as well. All in all, a pleasant stay and a sure recommendation to anyone.

Daar is net een woord om ons verblyf by Palmhof Chalets te beskryf en dit is ÄWESOME". Alles was perfek en ons sal definitief weer daar oorbly en Palmhof hoogs aanbeveel. Van die bespreeking tot en met die vertrek was alles perfek. Julle het 'n spesiale stukkie in die legkaart van ons Richtersveld toer.
