Seven Fountains Farm is a beautiful facility that sits halfway between Grahamstown and the Indian Ocean. Seven Fountains Farm was built in 1717 by a Dutch settler, Jan Frederick Potgieter and is the oldest farm in the Eastern Cape. 300 years after it was built, Seven Fountains Farm is open as a guesthouse, lunchroom and for venues.

At Seven Fountains Farm we love good quality food. We serve lunches and dinners only made from daily fresh products from our own farm or from farms in the area. From home-made bread, butternutsoup to a nice French country terinne or a beautiful piece of beef fillet. Because we work with daily fresh products our menu changes every day.

Seven Fountains Farm offers five double individually furnished rooms and three self-catering cottages which can accommodate up to six persons per cottage in the three century old buildings. The buildings are set in a beautiful garden and look over the veld up to the mountains and the Assegai River. Finishes everywhere are elegant and stylish, with crisp French cotton bedding and elegant fabrics. Children of all ages are very welcome.

When our guests arrive we want them to leave their troubles at the door and relax. You are welcome to make the house your own. Cuddle up with a book from the library by the open fire place. Take a swim in our swimming pool or take a leisurely walk on the farm roads, along the river’s edge. Doze off on the deck or in a hammock. Sit by the water’s edge and have a picnic. Our guests will be treated with the kind of attention that is reserved for family.

Grahamstown Reviews

The Old buildings, the stunning churches and Cathedral, the history and the National Arts Festial.
The roads are full of potholes, everything closes very early during the weekend.
During fest, the Long table is a very good place for dinner!

Grahamstown is a lovely town but the terrible potholes and lack of water in town is a huge problem for visitors and residents alike. My sons are students at Rhodes University and struggle immensely with the bad water supply and as they call it "water shedding" as they sometimes go up to three days days at a time without water

Beautiful old buildings to visit! The terrible streets full of potholes make this 5 star town unfortunately a 3 star place!
