Franschhoek is well known for the cultural influences the Huguenots brought to this village during their immigration in the 17th and 18th centuries. The village of Franschhoek is surrounded by dramatic mountains and lush green vineyards as far as the eye can see. Nestled in one of the most beautiful valleys in South Africa, you will find an endless supply of activities for all ages.

What a fantastic experience on the Franschoek Wine Tram! 10 stars from us. Take some time to research which estates you would like to visit to choose the best route. We chose the Grey route and stopped at Franschoek Cellar, Leopards Leap and Rickety Bridge as these were all child friendly options. We will definitely be back without the kids ;) Also, great service and food at the River Café.
