Annie's Cottage is a splendid old manor house in Springbok, Namaqualand. Situated at the base of a rugged "koppie", the site of the very first commercial mine in South Africa that was started in 1852. We are the perfect stop-off point between Cape Town and Windhoek or Upington as we provide excellent service to the most discriminating of tourists. We have been awarded 4 star, accredited pension and 3 time semi-finalist in the AA Accommodation Awards. Experience the great Afrikaner service and hospitality only at Annie's Cottage.

The manor has been refurbished to its age old grandeur and has retained its charming character, giveing you a taste of its glory from a bygone era. Charming small shops and great restaurants are only 500 m away on the old town and a thriving central open market entices bargain hunters for an exotic shopping experience.

The accommodations at Annie's Cottage consists of ten luxurious en-suite rooms all with private entrances either to the peaceful garden or the verandah.
Room 1 - Appeliefie: Double & single bed, kitchenette
Room 2 - Citrus: Double & single bed, small kitchenette
Room 3 - Peach: 3 x 3/4 beds, tea/coffee facilities
Room 4 - Amarula: Own patio, single beds
Room 5 - Apple: Two single beds, tea/coffee facilities
Room 6 - Ndlovu: Large luxurious room overlooking the Jacaranda tree tops, queen-size bed plus single bed
Room 7 - Loft: A romantic attic studio with double bed, private staircase from the garden,
Room 8 - Mango: Spacious, queen-size bed plus single bed
Room 9 & 10 - Plum & Blossom: Double bed in Plum and 2 single beds in Blossom, own patio

Namaqualand is a huge semi-desert area. Giant granite boulder stacks dot the landscape. The sheep and goat farmers are nestled in their lovely habitat in the savannahs between these "koppies". The arid desert is transformed into "God's own Garden" during springtime, as wild spring flowers erupt into a profusion of colors. We are in close proximity to the renowned Namaqualand wildflower reserves and to the Richtersveld National Park.

From the initial email communications with Pet until we reluctantly said good bye to her, our experience at Annie''s cottage was special. The environment is a little oasis in the desert and the service was wonderful; not one amenity was overlooked! Pet, her husband and the staff were all very helpful and went out of their ways to enhance our visit. If we could return to Namaqualand, there is no other place I would consider staying.
Superb. 5 out of 5
