Welcome to Benguela, an intimate, exclusive guesthouse offering air conditioned accommodation featuring spectacular views of the ocean. A five minute stroll takes you to the waters’ edge where whales come home each year from June to November.
Benguela offers guests an accommodation choice of seven impeccably decorated bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and private entrance. Three rooms have magnificent sea views, while four rooms opens to our beautiful garden courtyard. Each room offers air conditioning, mini bar and coffee tray. All rooms open up to either a terrace or patio area.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Benguela offers an outdoor swimming pool, with sweeping sea views, sun loungers, cocktail bar and guest lounge. Guests can enjoy our Pajama Lounge with flatscreen TV and satellite channels.
Our in-house restaurant offers mouth-watering breakfasts, lunches, dinners or any delectable snack your taste buds may crave. Service is seated or in your room.
Benguela is the perfect location for the shark cage diving & viewing tours and the whale watching tours. In partnering with www.whitesharkdivers.co.za we offer our special guests preferred rates on these tours.
All rooms are air conditioned. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available through out the property. Coffee and tea can be ordered free of charge. Room service is available offering everything from exquisite cuisine to kiddies meals. Toiletries and towels including full linen is supplied complimentary.
Area Information:De Kelders is the beautiful suburb of Gansbaai which is known as the Great White Shark Capital of the World. De Kelders is home to the Southern Right and Humpback whales between July and November.

This is an amazing place to stay. Beautiful rooms and views from the property. All very high quality and really welcoming. The hosts go out of their way to ensure that your stay is the very best it can be. Nothing is to much trouble for them.

Definitely a fantastic place to visit during whale season.
The views are just a true beauty of Nature. Walking trails, whales season. comes with the best accommodation in the area and restaurants too.

De Kelders is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The views are simply magnificent. Long stretches of quiet beaches. Whale season is incredible, in 2018 we had more than a 1000 whales in the bay.
However, De Kelders is loved and cherished by well seasoned travelers who return year upon year.
