Lord Fraser Guest House is situated in the charming village of Wepener, in the Free State. The Guest House was the summer residence of the well-known, blind Lord Ian Fraser of Lonsdale. He was the chairman of the board of the once powerful retail business, Fraser's in Lesotho.
The guest house comprises a variety of en- suite bedrooms to choose from, restored to its original style and tastefully decorated to create an authentic feeling, some with indoor fireplaces or heaters, but ultimately all featuring tea and coffee facilities. The property also offers an on-site restaurant, a fully stocked bar, lush green gardens, laundry service, braai facilities, satellite television and parking on the premises
Nearby activities: fishing at the Knelpoort dam, golf in Dewetsdorp and tours to Lesotho can be arranged.

A stay at the Lord Fraser guest house is an enjoyable experience for those wanting something different. It is quaint and quirky with its own charm. The room was tastefully decorated in period pieces but had a large Screen TV with the sports bouquet and news channels, a large fridge, and a massive but very comfortable bed. The food was good bar food and the service was quick and friendly.
It is an old fashioned spacious building with a large pleasant garden. Our room was large and well furnished plus an equally large en suite bathroom. As it was a Sunday only a bar supper was available which was more than adequate. breakfast was excellent. A very comfortable stay.
