Whether you are looking for an authentic South-African farm visit, farm life experience, a nice environment to explore with friends and family, unique hiking-/biking-/4x4 routes or just an isolated location to find your bearings and reconnect with the earth, Platbakkies Farm Retreat is just the place to go! The newly renovated farmhouse offers 3 double rooms with bathrooms, barbecue facilities, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area, accommodating 6 guests. The Cottage offers comfortable accommodation for 2 guests, also including barbeque facilities, fully equipped for self-catering.
In Room Facilities:Platbakkies Farmhouse is a newly renovated farmhouse consisting of 3 bedrooms with bathrooms, a living room, lounge, dining room, barbecue facilities as well as a kitchen with a stove and oven, a microwave, a freezer, a fridge, fully equipped for self-catering. Guests are also welcome to make use of the available board games and books provided for your pleasure.
Area Information:Situated on the R355 between Kliprand and Springbok, Platbakkies is a farm in the heart of the Namaqualand of South Africa. On the edge of Bushmanland, it contains the best of both worlds in that it showcases both the seemingly never-ending plains and the grassy vegetation of Bushmanland and the mountainous scenery and shrubbery of the Kamiesberge.
Property Facilities:Braai facilities, as well as safe parking, are available for use. The accommodation is an on a self-catering basis, and meals are available on request at an additional cost. Family packages are also available. The farm is home to a wide variety of animals and offers various activities such as partaking in the farming activities, walking, biking, game drives, bird watching or day trips in the area.
Attractions:Join the farmer for a day of farming, do some walking or biking, go on a game drive, look for a new bird specimen, play a board game, read a book, and at night we deliver a traditional plate of “Boerekos” if you wish.
