The Farmers Cottage is in the quietest corner at the Karoo Pandok Guesthouse and sleep two guests. The cottage has air-conditioning with a king size bed and sleeper couch, private bathroom, fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen.
The open plan self-catering cottage with elegant yet simple interior is the perfect overnight stay where you can relax after a long drive. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, gas stove, fridge and electric kettle.
It also has a covered patio with outdoor braai/barbeque facilities and furniture for outdoor living with a view of a private garden to relax in. All linen and towels are provided, with tea and coffee facilities and rusks included.
The swimming pool is at the main guesthouse and can be used by the cottage guests.
The guest house is a just a 3-minute drive away from the centre of town. For dinner guests can eat at the Die Ou Kar Restaurant in town or enjoy a braai at the cottage. Breakfast is available at the main guesthouse at an extra cost to the guests.
The property offers free parking. Wi-Fi is available at the main guesthouse.

We were made to feel very welcome and it was clear that Louise was expecting us. We had a fantastic dinner at the Old Car. We were directed to places of interest by Louise!!

Super clean well equipped spacious cottage on the outskirts of town. Very friendly hostess escorting you to your cottage and make you feel at home. Enjoyed our stay.
Our stay was very nice, the Cottage is really great value for money. The setting was idyllic which makes for the perfect city escape. Louise was very welcoming and helpful which was much appreciated. The local tour with her friend Trudie was excellent. We look forward to visiting Berthulie again.
A gracious little farm cottage that is sweetly decorated, clean and nicely kitted out. Garden is spacious for dogs to roam and the surrounding bush and evening stars provide a tranquil setting. A good stopover between the Eastern Cape and Gauteng. Suggest guests take mosquito repellent in summer, especially if it has been raining.
The Farmers Cottage is a wonderful and safe haven on the road through the Free State. Louise was very helpful and provided some good ideas to make our stay more pleasant.
We traveled to the cottage from Aliwal North on the dust road (R701), which set the scene for our stay. Bethulie is a small Karoo town on the way back to Gauteng.
The cottage is beautifully situated on a small holding in a quiet part of Bethulie. It is wonderfully appointed and very peaceful. The cottage well equipped and very quaint for two people.
We had our three Labradors with us and they were made welcome by Louise.
We also had the opportunity to eat at the affiliated restaurant, ‘die Ou Kar’. We had the ribs and chips, which was great and very tasty. The chips were probably the crispiest and tastiest we have every had. Portions were generous and we really enjoyed the meal.
We look forward to our next stay at the Farmers Cottage and another meal at die Ou Kar.
I had a great stay overnight at the Karoo pandok guest house. The accommodation was wonderful with great decor and comfortable beds and amenities all round. Fabulous!
Hosts were warm and friendly and very supportive and informative! I stayed over twice in a week! Each time was fab!
