Qoo-oe means “Gathering Place” in the Gikwe Bushman language. This is exactly the purpose of Qoo-oe Lodge, situated centrally on Qabe Game Farm. Qoo-oe Lodge is an oasis for hunters after a long day in the African sun. Here, around the Boma campfire, hunting stories are narrated and friendships established. An extensive swimming pool with built-in bar provides a vista of the plains and grazing antelope, creating a relaxing atmosphere.
Accommodation is in traditional circular African dwellings (called “Rondawels”) with conical thatched roofs, each offering room service, well decorated and comfortably equipped. Our aim is to create a warm atmosphere and attend to individual needs. The units can accommodate up to 20 individuals in total or four separate families. Each sleeping unit has a bath, shower and either a double or single room with a panoramic view over a watering hole. Scrumptious meals are served in our comfortable dining area and we provide a fully stocked bar.
The Lodge itself has a large, cool swimming pool with a built in bar overlooking the plains of grazing antelope and provides relaxation for the nature lovers and hunters alike.

Temperatures vary from 8 degrees Celsius (48F) in the mornings to 30 Celsius (90F) during midday for June, July and August. However September, October and November is our hot season and daytime temperatures can rise to between 30 and 35 Celsius (110F).
During the months of June, July and August a warm down jacket of fleece is recommended. The chilly wind on the back of a hunting vehicle must not be underestimated. Later in the season a light-hunting jacket might be required in the mornings. Care must be taken not to use safari clothes of a light colour. Grey, dark green or camo is recommended in the hunting field. Long sleeved shirts and trousers will protect the hunter from the sun. A cap, or floppy hat and sun screen is essential.

Area Information:
Qabe Private Safaris and Qoo-oe Lodge is situated in the magnificent Waterberg mountain range (Northern Sotho: Thaba Meetse) in the Northern Limpopo Province of South Africa. The area forms part of the Bushveld district, a landmark well known to hunters over many centuries. The hunting and safari experience in this region is incomparable to any other region in South Africa. Qabe Private Safaris is situated on a privately owned game farm. Hennie Bezuidenhoudt and his family have owned the property since 2008 and are passionate about conservation and breeding animals. Being privately owned, they set their own quotas and are not affected by any hunting bans.
With its illustrious landscapes of African bush and rolling grasslands, Qabe provides a hunting experience unlike any other. For this very reason, local and international hunters flock to this malaria free idyll annually, adding to the remarkable eminence of hunting in this area.
The Tambotie River, which is one of the very few sustainable rivers in the area, has its origins on Qabe Game Farm. The farm covers an area of almost 3000 ha and has become home to a wide variety of game species over the centuries, including Sable, Nyala, Wildebeest (Gnu), Kudu, Impala, Waterbuck, Zebra, Giraffe, Eland and plenty of smaller game such as Duiker, Steenbok, Redbuck and Bushbuck. As within any healthy eco system, Qabe Game Farm also hosts a variety of predators and scavengers, such as Leopard, Jackal, Baboon and Brown Hyena. The farm has a rich diversity of trees, insects, plants and birdlife. Quabe game farm has become known as a bow hunting paradise with state of the art hides, specifically designed for the purpose of providing the hunter with a unique hunting experience. We cater for the sophisticated hunter who is serious about hunting animals within their natural surroundings.
While within the Perfections of Africa brand, each establishment retains its own unique individual identity. Being promoted under our established brand and forming part of our portfolio guarantees and increases market awareness. Our philosophy is not to simply sign up properties, but to rather qualify each one individually, ensuring that it meets our standards and that it will add value to the portfolio, and that we will be able to add value to the property.

Lephalale (Ellisras) Reviews

Elaine Bird
28 January 2019
Lephalale (Ellisras) is very convenient for the border posts to Botswana.
Fabulous. 4 out of 5

Construction activities in the region makes it difficult for general tourism. Shopping Centres are of high quality but very crowded at times. Lots of places just outside of Lephalale offers typical African experience and is perhaps better for tourism.
Okay. 3 out of 5
