Heaven on earth. Spent two days, loved every minute. Food, accommodation, scenery, hospitality, all amazing. Didn't want to leave!!
Exceptional. Fabulous location and most delicious dinner in particular.
Would like to keep it secret!
Beautiful scenery, lovely accommodation and superb food.
We had a lovely stay and an excellent dinner. Thank you.
Loved the experience, far away from the hordes of tourists encountered on our trip prior to visiting Hilary and her husband. Our friendly host looked after all of our needs, including a perfect hot dinner at the end of the day. Unfortunately our schedule only allowed for a single night visit, but we would have loved to stay for two or more days to help wind down.
Idyllic setting on the river, rich bird life, very, very relaxing. Food and accommodation superb. A really restful place. The only slight drawback is having to drive for over an hour on dirt roads, but worth it once you get there.
My husband I and I had offered to drop our son at the start of the Whale Trail and decided to spend a night in the area. How fortunate we were to chose Mudlark. This delightful small lodge with a wonderful outlook over the Breede River lived up to all expectations. The hosts Hilary and Tim were warm and welcoming and the food was excellent. My husband and son enjoyed fishing with Jerome and we came back with a lovely Grunter which fed four of us - a real treat. This seems to be one of the few places on the coast where you can actually catch fish!
Warm and friendly receoption. Amazing views from the accommodation.
Really enjoyed our stay.
-was a lovely stay overall...but I would have to say that the bathroom could do with some nice new big fluffy towels and a bit of an update. Unforunately the plumber had not fixed the shower properly from the week before so we had a slightdrainage problem...lastly, the food was very tasty but a little rich for me and 3 courses was filling!!
We only stayed one nigth at the Mudlard River Front Lodge - which was really too short, we would have loved to stay longer in the tranquile and friendly atmosphere directly at the river. The rooms were wonderful with spectacular view from the terrace over the river. Our hosts, Hilary and Tim, were absolutely wonderful and friendly and especially the food was extraordinary good. Hilary's cooking can compare with any 5star restaurant, she served us homemade food which was fantastic, fresh fish from the river, and beef, everything tasty! Our group of 6 enjoyed the short stay and we truely can recommend this place!
