* Joe’s Beerhouse
*Joe’s Beerhouse originally opened up in Grimm Street, in 1990. The word got out about the delectable menu options, and the pub’s popularity grew immensely. In 1992, it was relocated to Independence Avenue. The idea behind the pub was to provide Windhoek’s community with an easygoing place to grab a bite or have a refreshing drink. The menu is mouthwatering; an impeccable blend of Namibian and German cuisine. The assortment of dishes includes Kudu steak, Gemsbok fillet, Eisbein and Sauerkraut, as well as vegetarian options. *Daan Viljoen Game Reserve
*Situated 18km west of Windhoek is the smallest of National Parks in Namibia. Having been established in 1962, it gained its name from the former South African Administrator who played a large role in bringing the park to life. Owing to the fact that the Park is at a higher altitude than Windhoek, the summer nights are much cooler at the Park than in the city. This in no way stops the Park from being an extremely favourable spot for nature lovers. The dam has a constant influx of water, which attracts over 200 bird species. The bungalows, camping sites and picnic areas take full advantage of the dazzling dam landscape. Wherever you choose to relax, you can rest assured that your 360° view will be invaluable. Even though there are no large predators at the Park, the Blue Wildebeest, Eland, Kudu, Oryx, Springbok and Klipspringer are perpetual visitors. *Owela Museum
*The name Owela is derived from a traditional African game played with pebbles. The museum is located on Robert Mugabe Avenue in the city centre, 600m from the main building of the National Museum of Namibia. There are specimens of natural history to be seen, and perception of the first populations of Africa to be gained. Owela Museum shows real appreciation for their ingenuity, cognition and hand construction. The younger visitors will relish in the “touch room,” where the exhibits come alive. The museum lobby has alternating displays; so no matter how many times you visit, you will always learn something new. Entrance is free, but visitors are asked to consider making a donation towards AIDS charity funding

*Hofmeyer Walk
*This is an impressive and grandiose walking trail that takes you through the Klein Windhoek Valley. In order to fully delight in this wonderful gift from nature, visitors should plan to spend an hour on the track. The views of the city are all-encompassing and awe-inspiring. The real draw card is the close-up view of the aloes that dominate the surrounding vegetation. The aloes are at their finest in winter, when the auroral red flowers enchant various bird species. Hofmeyer Walk can commence at either Sinclair or Uhland Street and ends at the corner of Orban and Anderson Street. You will walk through bushland, and be able to experience the rawest version of Windhoek.
