Hibberdene is a well-known, tranquil seaside resort, close to all amenities and Blue Flag beaches, yet quiet enough to ensure a great getaway. We have back up water supply should council not be able to supply.

Hide Away Two Bedroom House:
2 Bedrooms (1 x Double Bed, 2 x Singles), 1 Bathroom with shower, 2nd toilet. Set of bed linen and hand towels are supplied. Please bring own bath/beach towels! Open plan kitchen/lounge/bar Area. Covered deck & sun deck, free-standing power fence, external pet-friendly linked alarm system, TV (Bring own decoder, and remote). Currently only Easy view DSTV package.

The Villa Three Bedroom House:
3 Bedrooms (1 x Double Bed + 2 x Singles, 1 x King size and 1 x Queen size), 3 Bathrooms, bring own towels! (1 x Bath, 2 x Shower), Games Room with pool table, Open plan kitchen lounge, Laundry with Washing Machine & Tumble Drier, Covered Deck & Patio, Outdoor Braai, Double Lock Up Garage, free-standing power fence & external pet-friendly linked alarm system. Currently the Easy View basic Dstv package is on in the units, however, during our Festive season period, we normally upgrade our packages.

Cosy Three Bedroom Holiday Home:
2 Bedrooms Stylishly decorated (Both with King Size Beds), 1 Bathroom with shower, bring own towels! Open plan kitchen/lounge/bar Area. Covered deck & sun deck with tables and chairs for comfortable seating, free-standing power fence, external pet-friendly linked alarm system, TV (Bring own decoder, and remote). Currently only Easy view DSTV package.
At the bottom of the house, there is a brand new stylishly decorated bedroom on suite bathroom with a lovely bath to soak away your stress. This bedroom, totally private from the rest of the Cabin has a double bed with kettle, coffee, sugar and power milk as well as a jug of water with glasses. The bathroom has a foam bath and small hand soaps to kick-start your holiday visit. Only hand towels are provided.

Lifesavers are on duty throughout the year from 09h00 to 17h00, with changing rooms, ablution facilities and a tuck shop. Festivals, beach parties, & live shows are some of the activities arranged in the season for the youngsters. The Super Tube & Putt-Putt provide fun for the whole family all year around. A 9-hole driving range is a mere stone's throw from the cabins. A bar and restaurant on the beachfront keep Mom and Dad busy while the kids enjoy the fun in the breakers or in the play park. Lovely handmade beadwork and art are on display daily by hawkers on the beach. Watchful car guards will be watching your car should you prefer to drive to the beach.

Activities: Fishing is popular from the beach in the very early mornings but there are rocks from where anglers can try their luck. Early mornings the fishing boats are set afloat in the river and return late in the afternoons where you can then buy fresh fish from them. If you have your own boat and want to go deep sea fishing, the ski boat club at Hibberdene can be contacted for more info, or want to book a trip, it can be arranged. Scuba diving is also an option. Every year, during June & July, huge numbers of silvery pilchards, locally known as sardines, travel from the cold southern oceans off Cape Point, moving inshore up the Transkei and Kwazulu Natal coastlines in what is commonly known as the annual sardine run - resulting ultimately in "Sardine Fever". This incredible natural phenomenon of millions of fish is followed by a frenzy of game fish, dolphins, sharks and birds. Along with it comes another creature - kindly referred to as the tourist.

During this time of year, nature puts on a wonderful display with birds diving into the ocean from lofty heights. Some years up to 3000 Bottlenose dolphins have been seen wave jumping and surfing in the translucent waves, as well as whales basking offshore - one of the most extraordinary sights of the sardine run.
