Rich in the history of luxury Kenyan safaris, the camp was founded in 1993 by Peter Frank and the Gehlot family. Peter Frank, a renowned hotelier, inspired by Denys Finch Hattons safaris for Royalty at the turn of the century in Tsavo itself, then created the concept behind of Finch Hattons Luxury Tented Camp. A dedication to elegance and style with a passion for the African wild.
A labour of love for two families, it set the standard in luxury tented camps in the early 90's and the name quickly became synonymous with outstanding hospitality. It stands as the firm favourite for many guests both local and international.
A renowned brand for 25 years, the camp was rebuilt from 2013 to 2015 using the same principles of excellence and a passion for the African wilderness, setting once again a new standard for luxury in tented safari camps. Finch Hattons was named Best New Safari Camp by Architectural Digest in 2015 and voted as Africa's leading tented camp in 2016 and 2017.
The Finch Hattons team takes pride in an unparalleled luxury safari experience for multi-generational travel together with tailor made experiences for our guests.
