Set above the flood plain of the Komati River, the restaurant, bar and pool facilities, and the individual chalets and cottages are no more than fifty meters from the water’s edge where pods of hippos and an array of spectacular bird life will entertain for hours on end.

There are fourteen chalets either with twin or double bed configurations. The rooms are spacious and an extra single bed can be facilitated in each room on request for either a third person or children sharing basis. A surcharge is applicable for this service.
The chalets are tastefully decorated, comfortable and a home away from home atmosphere pervades.
The six family cottages are spacious, comfortable and perfect for family groups or couples travelling together.
The family cottages each consist of two bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms, and both bedrooms lead into a spacious central open plan lounge and kitchen.

Area Information:
The famous Kruger National Park, Crocodile bridge gate is a mere 12km from the lodge and the sweet veld grasses of the South Eastern Kruger National Park ensure that this is arguably the best game viewing area of the entire park as vast herds of plains game and predators alike are attracted to the spoils of this pristine area.
Both Mozambique and Swaziland are but a stone throw from Komati River Chalets providing the perfect base from which to explore both exotic destinations.
Property Facilities:
Restaurant and Bar:
The restaurant is open from Monday to Saturday for breakfast and dinner and on Sundays for breakfast only with dining areas both indoors and outdoors overlooking the gardens. The menu is simple and offers a variety of homely dishes for its patrons we can also accommodate children
for hassle free family dining. The bar adjacent to the restaurant is open from 5.00pm allowing guests the opportunity to sit back relax and enjoy a well earned sun downer.
Pool:
A non-heated swimming pool is situated in front of the restaurant and bar and is for exclusive use of in house guests of Komati River Chalets.
Volleyball Court:
A volleyball court is situated between the river and the chalets for all to enjoy. In house guests can obtain a volleyball from reception.
For the kids:
Spend some time with your kids in the pool or playing volleyball. A jungle gym and play area is also provided on site for our younger guests.
Parking:
Parking is provided for directly adjacent to your chalet or cottage for your convenience. Should anything larger than a small-to-mTammy - Australian cattle dog cross, Impi - Staedium size trailer be in tow then reception must please be informed and consulted about additional parking required for large trailers or boats in tow.
Security:
Komati River Chalets is situated on 12 acres of privately owned land. The 12 acre estate is enclosed by an electrified security fence and remote control gate. There is also a security guard patrolling the property from sunset to sunrise for our guests convenience and safety. Please be aware that the estate is a wilderness area and hippo's often come up from the river to the estate gardens in the evenings to graze. Crocodiles are resident in the Komati River so no swimming in the river is permitted at any time.
Pets:
Komati River Chalets regrets that no visiting pets are allowed at the establishment. We have a family of guinea fowl, Patches, our domestic cat and Polly, an African Grey Parrot who are residents of Komati River Chalets, guests are more than welcome to interact with them but we ask that you treat them with the love that we do.
Attractions:
River Walk:
The Komati River itself is no more the 50 metres from any of the chalets and cottages. A thick riverside forest occurs all along the river banks. There is a paved pathway through the beautiful age old indigenous tree forest sporting beautiful views of the Komati River and some of its animal and bird life. The river is the home to wild crocodile and hippos so care must be taken at all times when walking or fishing off our river bank.
Bird Watching:
There are over 500 bird species on offer in the area, and due to the river frontage some of Africa's finest water birds and fowl are local residents. (Be sure to pack your binoculars!)
Fishing:
The Komati River is home to numerous species of freshwater fish. The most famous of these species is the Tiger Fish, due to its supreme game fish status as Africa's best freshwater fighting fish. There are various well positioned spots all along the river front on the property for keen anglers! Other species that can be caught from the property are Mozambique Bream (Blue Kurper), Red breasted bream, Mudfish, Catfish and carp. (Bring your own tackle!)
We have basic tackle at our reception area and fishing rods to hire also!

When making your accommodation reservation, please enquire about the below activities should you be interested and we will book them in advance for you. Please note that these activities are all subject to availability and will need to be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.
Kruger National Park Game Drives:
We will gladly organise for one of the area's best guides to take you on either an open vehicle half day or full day game drives into Kruger National Park. Night drives are also available into Kruger National Park from Crocodile Bridge Gate. Komati River Chalets to Kruger National Park, Crocodile Bridge Gate - 12 kilometers. Please note that these game drives need to be booked in advance as they are subject to availability.
Tiger fishing:
If you are serious about catching Tiger Fish then it is best to book a Tiger Fishing Charter with one of our local guides so that you have the best chance of being successful. You will share the experience on the Charter with other novice and experienced fishermen. We offer a guided half day or full day boat fishing experience, all fishing gear & tackle is supplied. Please note that this activity needs to be booked in advance as it is subject to availability.
