Situated in Malelane, Mpumalanga, South Africa at the southern edge of the Kruger Park, on the Crocodile River, River House offers our guests "old fashioned hospitality with Traditional South African Meals" Meal of the day and regular sightings of game from the viewing deck and swimming pool. We are a gay-friendly establishment.

*The Malelane Gate is one of the main entrances into the Kruger National Park on the N4 highway from Johannesburg, which means that the little town, and the farms that surround it, cater to visitors to the park, and there are some excellent lodges and Beds & Breakfasts - even the major supermarket players like Spar and Pick ‘n Pay has moved into the area, so you are assured of being able to stock up before entering the park

We stayed a weekend at the lodge 23-25 August 2024.
We received a warm welcome and were showed round the facilities. We didn't spend much time at the lodge as we were going into Kruger, however the meals while simple were home cooked goodness. fresh veggies and a lovely dessert each evening. the room was clean and neat. loved the massive shower, the decor was plain and simple but effective.
Great location, rustic setting on the banks of the crocodile river overlooking the Kruger National Park, with viewing deck. Saw Rhino on the opposite bank, and the hosts very relaxed and friendly.
