Located in Engaresero, a small Maasai village in Northen Tanzania, Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge offers both Campsite and rooms.
Only a few kilometers away from Lake Natron, guests are able to enjoy the presence of giraffes and zebras each morning as they pass by outside of the Lodge as they head to the lake for water - hence the name Maasai Giraffe. The Maasai in this area continue to practice their age old pastoral ways, keeping livestock and moving their cattle in harmony with the change of seasons. Staying in a Maasai village offers plenty of opportunities to meet the local people and experience and their pastoral ways of living and their traditions. This is carefully organized and always mindful of enevirinmental conservation and respect to the values of the local community.
With our property just few kilimetres from the Lake shores, guest will also meet giraffes, zebras and wild beast as pass very close to our lodge on their way to/from Engaresero river for water.
Our lodge has 10 rooms always set as singles, doubles, twin, triple and quad.
Three meals a day can be offered from our open-air kitchen which, like the rest of our lodge's facilities runs completely on solar power. The lodge's water supply comes directly from nearby mountain springs and has no negative impact on local water supply.
Due to its geographical location, the weather here is most of times hot and therefore we have a natural swimming pool to cool your body and refreshment during hot days and nights.
The time-tested ways of the Maasai are environmentally sustainable and beneficial to protect wildlife. Organization of the United Nations has therefore designated Engaresero as a globally important Agricultural Heritage Systems site (GIAHS).
If you realy want a wild lodging or camping experience that tiptoes its ecological footprint and affords incredible opportunities for game viewing, this is absolutely it.
