Situated in the southern section of the Nambiti Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal, Cheetah Ridge Lodge is an unrivalled bush retreat, offering fully-catered, accommodation in 10 luxury suites, as well as a sumptuously-appointed family suite which sleeps up to six people. We also have a special five bedroom self catering house available for larger families or groups. The Farmhouse at Cheetah Ridge comes complete with private Butler, Boma, Plunge Pool and unobstructed views of the bush.
Overlooking a private watering-hole, each free-standing suite allows guests the opportunity to observe a vast array of congregating African wildlife from the privacy of their personal viewing deck.

Sprawling across 10 000 hectares of pristine wilderness, this malaria-free game sanctuary boasts incredible biodiversity, with 22 000 acres of undisturbed savannah, grasslands, and acacia-tree dotted thornveld set in spectacular scenery.
From the moment you check into reception, the gamefest begins: herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, impala, kudu, eland, wildebeest, waterbuck, rhino, and lion, to mention just a few. More than the abundance and variety of game, though, is the quality of sightings that’ll hold you spellbound.
Occasionally, a resident group of kudu roam the gardens of the lodge, while a bloat of hippos—part of the reserve’s 17-strong herd—can often be heard wallowing in the pool close to the lodge’s rooms.

Fantastic people run this place, from meeting and greeting to even the game rangers getting involved to serve at the tables when evening meal rush is on. The desire to help and make the visit a memorable one is palpable. The location is vast and not your typical game reserve, with steep inclines and very uneven surfaces to traverse. That though is part of the whole experience and one I would not want to change. Vast open planes provide evidence that this is Cheetah country. The views of the hippos from the deck of our unit is just Africa at its best. The game rangers are there for you the guest and they go way beyond what I am sure is there “job description”. The leopard “ hunt” was by far a highlight. Terrain that was almost impassable but we made it to the end, although sadly we didn’t see a leopard. That I believe is the link to a return. Overall a great experience and one to be recommended.
