Welcome to Shenindor, set on the crest of a hill on 4 acres just outside Hillcrest, overlooking a breathtaking panoramic view of the Assagay Valley.
Shenindor offers a peaceful country atmosphere, with a beautiful indigenous garden, which is home to a wide variety of birds. We have two well appointed BnB rooms plus a one bedroom Self Catering Garden Cottage and a two bedroom Self Catering Suite. Breakfasts are served on the patio overlooking the Assagay Valley. Enjoy your morning coffee under the Thatched Gazebo next to the heated pool.

Shenindor is situated in Alverstone just outside Hillcrest, Kwazulu Natal, close to the Valley of 1000 Hills, 30 minutes from Durban or Pietermaritzburg, 40 minutes from Durban International Airport, 2 hours from Drakensburg Resorts, 3 hours from HluHluwe and Umfulazi game parks and only 30 minutes from the coast.
On the tourist route - Valley of 1000 hills and Comrades Route & near Kearsney college.
There is easy access from N3 and M13 motorways.

All rooms have DSTV (BnB package), Fridges, Tea/Coffee facilities with Kettles, Heaters and Fans. Hair Dryers are available on request. The Self Catering Accommodation have kitchenettes with Microwaves, Kettles, Toasters, Fridges, Electric Frying Pans and Crockery and Cutlery.
Shongweni and Inanda dams, both surrounded by Nature Reserves stocked with game, offer fishing, canoeing, hiking trails and horse riding through the bush, bird watching and picnic areas. Hiking through the spectacular gorge at Kranzkloof Nature reserve, a sub-tropical jungle, you will encouter small game, abundant birdlife and possibly the crowned eagles, Africa's biggest raptor.
For the sports enthusiast, microlight flights, paragliding and abseiling can be enjoyed at various locations, as well as scuba diving trips to the coast. KZN is home to some beautiful and challenging golf courses. Camelot, Kloof and Augusta are only a short "drive" away so don't leave your golf clubs at home! Two of the world's most gruelling ultra-marathons, the Comrades Marathon and the Dusi Canoe Marathon are annual events in the area. Summerveld Racing Stables and Jockey Academy and the Durban Shongweni Club host all equestrian activities including International Polo.
There are numerous curio shops and crafters in the nearby valley of 1000 Hills and a visit to the "Heritage Market" in Hillcrest is a shopping experience on it's own. Other popular activities are the Saturday morning "Farmers Market" and a trip on the old steam train which winds it's way through the hills with beautiful views and stops for lunch at a craft market.
