Abigail's is a self-catering bed and breakfast establishment which takes pride in being able to provide the most comfortable facilities and accommodation at very reasonable daily rates.

Four different units are available for accommodation at Abigail's, each with its own bathroom en suite and individual qualities that reveal character and charm. Names like Gull Cottage, Tabby Tiger, Leopards Leap and The Singing Chameleon hint at the unique personality of each unit.

Situated in the quiet leafy suburb of Parkview, Abigail's has access to numerous facilities such as a swimming pool available for guests. As well as nearby tennis courts, golf, bowls and squash. Within walking distance is Parkview Village, a unique shopping centre that has retained the olde worlde charm of the suburb's early days while nevertheless still stocking almost every commodity one could wish to buy.

When travelling, one needs the homely warmth that Abigail's can provide. Abigail's has aimed to provide interesting, artistically decorated interiors set in lovely secluded clusters of gardens. Abigail's boasts beautiful; relaxing gardens that help you forget about the hustle and bustle of the world while you enjoy Abigail's tranquillity and bird life.

There's even a huge old oak tree in the garden, likely to have been brought out from Ireland, as a sapling, in 1907 by Major O'Hara, who lived just around the corner in Killkenny Road, and who was responsible for naming all the Parkview streets.

I stayed at Abigails for 8 nights with my three adult children. The accommodations were quite uncomfortable, dirty, and cold. The bathroom had mold on the tiles; there was dust on all the window sills, and the rooms smelled musty and old. Although we had been assured that there were no cats (my children are allergic), there were pictures of cats on every wall (a kind of cat decorating motif) and one cat that had the run of the dining room. My daughter was very sick, and we had to go to the hospital for an allergy-related condition which cleared up when we left. The alleged queen size sleeper couches were small pull out sleeping mats that were very uncomfortable. Abigails didn't provide top sheets for these mats. One window would not close --leaving a 4-inch gap for air and bugs to enter our quarters. Because the weather was very cold, this made the rooms uncomfortably cold all the time. We stuffed newspapers and towels in the window gap, but this was not sufficient. We had only one space heater that didn't solve the problem, and the owner neither fixed the window nor provided another heater. It was like camping, but less clean and at a far higher cost. On the plus side, the neighborhood was nice, safe and conveniently located.

Okay. 3 out of 5
