The name 'Astor House' is derived from William Waldorf Astor who in 1890 left America to settle in England with his large fortune. In 1903, he bought Hever Castle - once the home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII. Being small, he decided to create a Tudor Village adjacent to the original castle.
During our travels in England, we visited Hever Castle in Kent and henceforth, after months of renovations, builders' rubble and alterations, our once forlorn and neglected "Cinderella" has blossomed into Astor House, our little bit of Kent in Durban North!
Astor House offers you total comfort, convenience and privacy in one of our seven en-suite double bedrooms.
All rooms are beautifully decorated and provide all the comforts of home.
For your viewing entertainment, all rooms are equipped with TVs and offer M-net and DSTV.
Air conditioning provides that extra comfort on those warm days for which Durban has a well known reputation.
The added convenience of internet connectivity via wireless hot spot allows you to take care of business on your laptop in the comfort of your own room.
