Sgt Pepper's self catering guest house is set on the banks of the Vaal Dam in the small town of Oranjeville in the Free State. The property has direct access to the dam with a private slipway where guests can launch their boats.
The establishment can accommodate 12 guests: (1) house can accommodate 10 guests, namely 6 adults and 4 children; (2) flatlet can accommodate 2 guests and comprises a bedroom (2 single beds or queen), well equipped kitchen, bathroom & shower as well as a separate braai area.
The house comprises 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a guest toilet. The first bedroom contains a double bed. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The third bedroom contains 2 single beds. Next to the main bedroom, there is a double sleeper futon and in the living area is 2 single beds. All linen, towels and toilet paper are provided.
The house comprises a kitchen, 2 living areas with TVs and DStv channels, as well as a dining area. The kitchen contains a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a stove, an oven and ample built-in cupboards with crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, bake ware, oven ware, etc. A separate scullery is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and deep freezer.
The covered patio is spacious and has a built-in braai and patio furniture. From the patio, guests can enjoy views of the dam. The home is secured with an alarm system. Pets are welcome on prior arrangement.
The surrounding area offers fishing, water-sports, kayaking, cycling, and other outdoor sports.

We visited Vaaldam @ Sgt Pepper's the past weekend (30th of October to 1st of November 2020) and we were met at the gate by Jonas. We had a great, but too short, three nights there. The location is beautiful, the hosts (Jonas) are lovely, and the rooms are very comfortable. We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Vaaldam @ Sgt Pepper's. We would highly recommend this unique place for an overnight visit or an extended stay and we would definitely like to visit them again soon!
The place was really lovely and the caretaker, Jonas, was incredible! We loved it there! The establishment has everything on the premises you need. Fully equipped with everything.
We had an awesome time here! Great hospitality from hosts. House is super spacious, well equipped with everything you might need and a bit more! Its quiet, private, close to town and great dam front. We will surely be back.

We managed to really switch off and relax. They have a well stocked home with everything you need. A lovely escape from the busyness of life.
Definitief die beste wat ons nog op die Vaaldam beleef het. Die foto's is akkuraat. Alles wat mens nodig het is daar! Slaapplek vir Afrika. Vriendelike ontvangs en diens. Netjies! Skoon! Eie launch site en jetty! Ons gaan definitief terug!

The scenery, I have visited whilst on duty for my workplace.. May I ask if you can host families with any nearby activities like boat travel etc or anything of interest for children of all ages as well as families as a whole!!
The location has no shopping and petrol facilities nearby . I would recommend having everything you need before you arrive. Traveling there took some time because a large portion of the road is gravel /unpaved. The house is right next to the Vaal Dam which looks really cute for pictures .
