Glenfillan Lodge is a beautiful self-catering farmhouse located roughly 30 km from both Grahamstown, Port Alfred, Kenton on Sea and Bathurst- with its origins dating back to 1812.
The house offers 5 en-suite bedrooms and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The main and second bedrooms each contain a queen-size bed while the remaining 3 bedrooms each contain 2 single beds.
The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a stove, oven, 2 x fridge-freezer, cutlery and crockery. The dining area has a dining table and chairs offering seating space for 8 people, while the lounge has a comfy lounge suite and large indoor fireplace perfect for the cold winter months.
The house features an outside patio, braai area and a swimming pool. Please bring own towels for swimming. A domestic can be arranged at extra cost - discuss with host after booking.
There are plenty of marked walking paths on this 780-hectare working cattle farm. There is an abundance of birds and a variety of natural game, along with a chance of spotting the Cape Clawless Otter. For the cyclists, there are plenty of single track, jeep track and district roads to ride. There are huge rock pools that you can take a dip in on a warm summer days.

The Old buildings, the stunning churches and Cathedral, the history and the National Arts Festial.
The roads are full of potholes, everything closes very early during the weekend.
During fest, the Long table is a very good place for dinner!
Grahamstown is a lovely town but the terrible potholes and lack of water in town is a huge problem for visitors and residents alike. My sons are students at Rhodes University and struggle immensely with the bad water supply and as they call it "water shedding" as they sometimes go up to three days days at a time without water
