Beautifully situated about 300 meters from the main house, this farm style cottage has lovely views of mountains, fynbos and vineyards. It is ideal for a couple with or without a child and is the house of choice for honeymooners. If taken in conjunction with one of the bigger houses it can be used as two double bedrooms sleeping 4 people for workshops or retreats.
Pets are welcome at two of our houses, Caracal Cottage and Honey Badger House, both of which have enclosed garden areas. Please note that there is an added cost of R80 per pet per night.
Important notice: Pets are not allowed at the Farmhouse and farm yard (where the office is). We have an, otherwise very friendly, Great Dane who does not welcome other dogs.
Fynbos Estate, home to Dragonridge Wines, is situated in the beautiful Paardeberg, high up in Joubertskloof and just an hour from Cape Town. It offers comfortable spacious country accommodation with stunning views of the Swartland, vineyards and the mountain nature reserve.
The farm accommodation caters for couples, families, family reunions, groups of friends, wedding and celebration guests and workshops and retreats. Accommodation includes an original Farm House, Honey Badger House, Caracal Cottage, Black Eagle House and Owl Cottage, and in total the estate can accommodate 45 people sharing.
There are plenty of outdoor activities, including walks in the nature reserve, bird watching, mountain cycling, swimming in the pool at the foot of mountain and chilling on the many verandas. Lawns, open spaces, a jungle gym and the possibility to pet rescue animals, make it a haven for children. The house is pet friendly and has a fenced area.
While accommodation is set up to be self-catering, we offer delicious country meals for groups of 10 people or more. Wine tastings of our naturally made wine (in the traditional style of 1900’s) is available with our winemaker by appointment.

Fantastic little cottage. Private and cozy, nestled in the mountains with a lovely view and all the amenities.
My wife, our 2 small dogs and I had a great time relaxing in the quiet surroundings, chilling on the stoep during the day and enjoying a cozy fire at night.
The place was impeccably clean, the king-size bed very comfortable and warm, with soft towels and a nice hot shower.
Honestly one of the best farm stays ever.
Easy walking access to the nature reserve and many paths and places to explore within and around the farm. As with any other country-side, natural location ensure your dogs have their anti-tick medication, but we only found 1 or 2 and absolutely no cause for concern.
Wonderful animal friendly location. My dogs loved it.

What a great weekend we just had at Fynbos Estate. Last minute find turned out to be a real winner. Accommodation was fantastic. Kids had a blast feeding the animals and in the playground. Walked to the top of the hill (mountain) for the most amazing views. The hosts are great. Will certainly be back for another stay. Highly recommend!!!
