Six self-catering boutique glamping tents are surrounded by vineyards, mountain views and the peaceful Kromme River that makes its way through the farm. It's the perfect backdrop to admire from our outdoor wood-fired hot tubs.
Our 55m2 custom-made tents are fully furnished and equipped with a private kitchen, lounge, en-suite bathroom (with private shower and toilet), two comfy bedrooms with real beds (each tent sleeps a total of five guests), a fireplace, air-conditioning and a wooden deck. There is an outdoor wood-fired hot tub next to each tent and is the perfect place to listen to the birdsongs or relax under the stars at night.

In Room Facilities:Each AfriCamps tent consists of a spacious open plan lounge area with a comfortable couch, a dining area with a solid wooden table and seating for five guests, a fully-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms that comfortably sleeps five guests, and a bathroom complete with a hot shower, flushing toilet and washbasin. Each tent has its own private outdoor wood-fired hot tub, perfect for cooling off during hot summers or warming up in winter.
Both bedrooms are furnished with an extra-length queen-size bed and have their own private entrance which allows maximum privacy. One of the bedrooms also contains a single bunk bed. Our tents are equipped with air-conditioning and an indoor fireplace. Enjoy a braai on our spacious wooden decks and take in the views from the comfortable deck loungers. Pull up the front covers and transform the tent into a large outdoor living area. Unwind and appreciate a festive family breakfast while taking in the serene natural beauty of the South African landscape.
Area Information:Wellington is a historical town steeped in tradition, situated in the Western Cape province. Lovers of the outdoors and certainly wine will enjoy visiting Wellington where so much is offered to its visitors. Nestled at the foot of the Hawequas Mountains, Wellington is etched in beauty and only a 45-minute drive from Cape Town making it easily accessible to tourists. Wellington’s agricultural economy is centered on its award-winning wines, table grapes, deciduous fruit and fine brandy, and it is also home to South Africa’s sole whisky producer.
Property Facilities:Activities on the estate include a 5 km vineyard hike, river walk, mountain bike trails that start on the property, picnicking at various spots on the farm and the gorgeous wine tasting room where you can try some of the estate’s award-winning wines along with sumptuous lunch or platters. The little glampers will love our kiddies' mountain bike trail and finding their way through the labyrinth. Book a spa treatment from the comfort of your tent. Really amazing setting, just ask to have the hot-tub pre-heated if you are arriving late.
Was amazing to kick back and relax. Only small issue was the wood made a lot of smoke and was not dry.
This was our first time at Africamps and it lived up to all the good reviews I read. The stay was really good except for the howling winds which of course was beyond anyone's control. The staff at Doolhof especially Christelle were excellent, very helpful and accommodating. The only drawback from becoming a regular glamper is the cost but we will start saving for another glamping experience next year.
What an incredible stay. Beautiful setting and comfortable living area! Glamming is my new camping. The hosts are so organized and keep you informed of everything going on. Will definitely be back.
