Field's Rest: The Apartment  Verified Listing

Welcome to Field’s Rest, a small family run guest house in Walmer, Port Elizabeth. We pride ourselves in the quality and value for money we offer our guests. The guest house is located a stone’s throw from the airport, the perfect spot for travelers with early morning or late flights.

There are many popular restaurants nearby in Walmer, and the beachfront with its many tourist attractions is only 5 minutes’ drive from our location.

We offer a choice of 3 units. In Union Road we have:
1. The Courtyard Room – a double room with semi-self-catering facilities.
2. The Garden Cottage – A double room with a small lounge and separate kitchen. In addition to the double bed, there is a sleeper couch for a child.
These units can be booked as room only or with breakfast. Guests have access to free WiFi and the full Dstv package. For those wanting to relax outdoors, there is the beautiful garden and the swimming pool. We provide outdoor benches and braai (barbeque) facilities.

In Albert Road we have:
3. The Apartment – A superior quality large one bedroomed flat with open plan lounge/kitchen and balcony which can accommodate thee adults. This unit is self-catering only but is located next to an excellent restaurant. Guests have access to DStv and free WiFi.

Power cuts: The room and the cottage and the general property in Union Road has battery back up for lights and for the WiFi.

The Courtyard Double Room (20m2)
This is a single room with a double bed, cupboards, desk and work chair, 1 lounge chair. Flat screen TV. The bathroom has a shower. Amenities include: towels, extra blanket; soap and shampoo; fridge, microwave and kettle , along with mugs, glasses, crockery and eating utensils; Fan and heater. Iron and hair dryer. There is a bench in the courtyard.
The Garden Cottage (30m2):
There is a open plan bedroom/living room area with double bed, cupboard and storage space, dining room table/chairs and a couch. Flat screen TV. The separate bathroom has a shower. The separate kitchen has a full fridge/freezer, gas stove/oven, and all necessary equipment for self catering. Fan and heater. Iron and hair dryer.There is a private patio.
The Apartment (55m2):
A separate bedroom with double bed and cupboards; open plan living area with a single bed, lounge suite, flat screen TV, and dining room table; the kitchen has a full fridge/freezer with stove/oven and all the necessary equipment for self catering. There is a weber type braai and chairs for relaxing on the balcony.

Walmer is one of the most popular suburbs in Port Elizabeth both for locals and for visitors. The suburb is a mix of leafy residences and businesses. There are many popular restaurants and coffee shops, notably along Main Road, Heugh Road and 6th Avenue. Field's Rest is located less than 5 minutes from the airport and it is even possible to walk to the airport during the day (approximately 15 to 20 minutes).

Walmer attractions include numerous popular restaurants and coffee shops, Walmer Park shopping center, and Indoor Go-Karting. Nature areas on our doorstep include Victoria Park, and the Baakens Valley. Attractions on the beachfront include a number of beaches for bathing and relaxing on the sand, a popular walkway allows for strolling or cycling while watching the waves; the Boardwalk entertainment center is very popular (casino, restaurants, bars, a theater, and kids entertainment center). Bay World (aquarium and museum) is always worth a visit. And of course there are many restaurants and bars along the beachfront offering sea views. A short distance from the main beachfront area is Cape Recife Nature Reserve with the lighthouse and penguin rehabilitation center. All rooms have a file with useful information and brochures.
