Come and experience the beauty and the goodness of the little Karoo, the very near (seems to be) galaxies of our dark nights, the quietness of nature and a walk through the olive grove.
Gaze on to the masjestic Swartberg mountain, the well-known Towerkop – peak and look down on small succulents and aloes growing in their natural habitat.
a Touch of plaas (plaas is the local language meaning farm ') is a small olive grove with also a few fig and pomegranate trees.

The house (more than 100 years old) was an old farm school changed into a farm house. With the natural thick mud-made brick walls the house is pleasantly cool during summertime and well...it is cold in the winter...good to snuggle in luxuriously big rooms or just sit in front of the fire. The fire place can be used to barbeque meat or what ever you like.
We encourage guests to walk in the grove and during harvesting, enjoy the pure love of the nature.
And taste our extra virgin cold pressed olive oil, sun-kissed and hand picked olives.Kotie and Rina the hosts, came from a farming background, had business experiences and were living in Mozambique for 15 years. Being back in their own country, living from the farm, enjoy nature and their very diverse culture ; they love meeting new people from all over the world to introduce them to the unique life style in the Karoo.
Kotie is tending the farm and enjoy the peacfullness of the farm. Rina is bottling, preserving and cooking Jams, preserves and also doing 0lives and olive products.
Their grandchildren often visit them and love the special attention from Maggie the farm s Great Dane, collecting eggs We and chasing the kittens

The Karoo is a semi desert area with different eco systems. Although succulents and aloes are often normal sightings, the area is also known for very high quality of fruit like peaches, pears and apricots, The vineyards produce to cellars and won recent prices for outstanding wines all over the world. The mountains and passes in the district are well loved by bikers and hikers. In the town are some very interesting architectural designs in houses, old beautiful church hosting the tourism office. The town of Ladismith also have 2 cheese factories who won world wide prices for their exquisite taste. About an hour drive is the famous town Outshoorn with the Cango caves and ostrich farms still to visi
