Pieter was an amazing host, showed us round the historical house with all the stories that went with it and he is doing a great job bringing the guest house back to life. The meal we had at the Platteland Restaurant down the road was exceptional and within walking distance.
We'll be back for sure

the house was built in 1835 and is still strong and beautiful, easy excess to all restaurants and shops, across the street from the beautiful white NG Church in the middle of town. Coniston dated out of the old world with grace.
the guesthouse is now under new Management with Petter King from Aug 2019

All roads lead through Colesberg - Colesberg is rich on history of the War between the Britsh and the Boors. Old houses like Coniston Guesthouse, build in 1835, use to be the Hospital during that time and during your stay, please ask around or contact me on 0713.537.537 - the Info Centre [ great restaurants and shops]
