We have adapted the Standard Operating Procedures for all our service Centers and lodges in line with the Government of Namibia’s instructions to the tourism industry. We want to ensure the safest possible environment for our guests and employees whilst offering a comfortable, unforgettable Namibian experience.

In Room Facilities:

They are equipped with electricity, water, grill area and windbreak and share several communal bathroom facilities.Just a few minutes' drive from the road to Sesriem, this camping site is ideally suited for nature lovers who want to experience Sossusvlei and at the same time love the silent starlit nights of the Namib Desert.

Area Information:

The Namib Desert - pale green shrubs and trees on the banks of dry rivers against the backdrop of reddish mountains of sand. In Gondwana Namib Park (100 square) the fossilised dunes of the ancient Namib meet the active ones of the young Namib. A sea of dunes surges in the west, while in the east vast plains reach out to distant mountains.

Enclosed by the waves of a sea of red sand a lake glistens deep down in the valley of dunes - this is where the seasonal Tsauchab River ends; lined by trees it meanders through the dunes from the east. At Sossusvlei the river's course to the sea is blocked by the highest dunes on earth. It rarely happens - only after abundant rainfalls - that the clay pan of Sossusvlei fills with water. In neighbouring Dead Vlei, however, the dry branches of dead camel thorn trees rise towards the sky.

Due heavy rains countrywide since early January 2021, numerous roads and routes might be damaged or even closed. Please follow the updates on Namibia' road conditions for the area you are travelling through and drive with caution.

Property Facilities:

Namib Desert Lodge has two swimming pools, a salt and a fresh water pool. The restaurant and bar have an inviting terrace with magnificent views. Oryx antelope and springbok make frequent appearances at our illuminated watering place.

Attractions:

Dune Drive: Discover the fossilised dunes, the red dunes above the plateau and the many other wonders of the Namib Desert on this drive around Gondwana Namib Park.
Excursions to Sossusvlei & Deadvlei include brunch.
