The gracious Cape Dutch homestead originally built as the family home has been converted into a boutique hotel keeping all the grandeur and elegance and combining it with timeless style and ultimate luxury.
All the rooms are uniquely designed and fitted with exquisite furniture, large extra length king size beds, Egyptian cotton linen and all the necessities to ensure luxury.
The guest amenities supplied are high quality products in each room. The air-conditioned suites are fitted with espresso machines, LCD flat screen TV's with 8 satellite channels and room-safes. The suites are named after noble South African grape varietals of which Meerendal produces many award winning wines.
Area Information:The unique location and terroir of Meerendal, in one of the coolest wine regions in the Western Cape, is ideal for the variety of noble cultivars that have been planted here: Shiraz, Pinotage, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. A new vineyard of Pinot Noir has been established in 2008, while additional Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay vineyards have been added in the past few years. The high quality of grapes produced, together with modern cellar techniques, ensures fine Meerendal Estate wines of excellent quality. Meerendal's gracious Cape Dutch homestead, which has been extensively restored, is a landmark in the Durbanville area.
Property Facilities:The hotel has spectacular views overlooking the Boland mountains and local vineyards and is truly a countryside haven just minutes away from the buzz of the cosmopolitan city life of Cape Town as well as the airport.
Meerendal Wine Estate further offers two restaurants where all meals are served from 07:00 until 10:30pm. Wine tasting, running/walking trails, mountain bike trails available.
