Enjoy the beautiful self-catering Boathouse on our multi-award winning olive farm. If you haven’t been to Tulbagh before you are in for a wonderful surprise as there are so many things to do and see. Just 90 minutes from Cape Town and part of the Cape Winelands. This tranquil farming valley is nestled between three mountains, The Groot Winterhoek, The Witzenberg, and the Obiqua.
For your convenience on arrival, there is tea, coffee, (Nespresso Machine and Plunger), milk, rusks, and ice. Firewood for the barbecue and indoor fireplace as well as firelighters.
There is also a complimentary olive tasting voucher for two, valid for your stay (closed on Sundays). Please present your voucher at the Oakhurst Olive Tasting Room to validate it.
Please note that The Boathouse can only accommodate a maximum of 2 guests.
Space is not recommended for children because of its proximity to the water.
You will be staying on a beautiful farm with exclusive use of The Boathouse, situated at Oakhurst Olives, against the slopes of the Groot Winterhoek Mountains.
The Boathouse consists of an open plan living room with a dining table, a fully equipped kitchen & scullery (with dishwasher), a queen-sized air-conditioned bedroom with white percale linen and an en-suite bathroom with shower. For those cold winter days, there is a log fire in the living room and underfloor heating throughout.
Area Information:There are beautiful opportunities for birdwatching, hiking on the farm tracks through the olive orchards and fynbos on the mountain, or just getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoying the afternoon naps.
We do have two very enthusiastic and friendly dogs who have complete freedom of the farm and I’m sure they will pay you a visit.
Property Facilities:The living area and bedroom open out on to the wrap-around patio overlooking the water, with a hot tub. The patio has a barbecue/braai and dining area.
On the lower level, there is a ladder to access the water for swimming (swimming towels are provided) as well as a kayak and life jackets for your use. Please note that all activities are at your own risk. The dam water is used for irrigating our olive orchards and is not always at its fullest capacity, especially near the end of summer.
