And take the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hike through its pristine depths on the canyon mule trail, overnighting in specially chosen camps. Away from civilization, the canyon grandeur is yours alone. This unique privilege is offered by the Gondwana Collection, nature and time.

Attractions:The Fish River begins its journey in the Naukluft Mountains, seeking its lover, the Gariep or Orange River in the south. It flows steadily at first, dropping over two waterfalls before reaching the Löwen River and plunging into the canyon on its serpentine route to the end of the gorge at Ai-Ais.

Reviews
This is a spectacular, remote place to stay. If you don't mind basic accommodation, and amenities. 4x4 required to get there, especially from the base camp to the other camps. The staff are very helpful, friendly and went out of their way to guide us to the camp and help us with a serious puncture.
The office in Windhoek is not that in touch. When we asked about the condition of the roads, we received a map and directions. This gave no indication of the need for 4x4 to get there. Had we had a lesser vehicle we would have been in trouble.
While the office told us bedding was provided at Horseshoe camp this turned out to be a crate full of blankets and small cushions. We suggest you take your own bedding if this is not to your liking.
The camp is well laid out and the communal dining / cooking area is charming and rustic. Showers and toilets looking straight out onto the canyon are a delight.
