Splashing waves studio is in The Dunes Resort at Keurboomstrand only 10 minutes’ drive from Plettenberg Bay and 110 km from George Airport. The location is ideal for those who want to explore the beautiful Garden Route. Situated along the Keurboomstrand beach, guests visiting the Resort have private access to the beach, can enjoy a picnic or sundowner or dine at the 4-star-hotel's Restaurant.
The Resort offers 24-hour security, 2 swimming pools, a game room, trampoline, jungle gym, provides great opportunities for fishing, licensed restaurant and bar, and is within proximity of the Blue Flag swimming beach.
There is also a private viewing deck on site from which visitors can watch dolphins and whales. A safe walk through a lush forest leads guests to the private beach.
Thyme and Again farm stall and famous Enrique’s restaurant are nearby. For great local entertainment, live music and food you can visit Mel's place walking distance from the Resort.
The studio is wheelchair friendly.
Lying on the other side of the Keurbooms River from Plettenberg Bay, Keurboomstrand (or beach) lies on an enviable part of the Garden Route, highly popular for camping, fishing and swimming. But don't let the idea of holiday fever crowds deter you during the off season, as the views and beach at Keurbooms Strand are pretty spectacular.
The word 'keurboom' comes from the local Keurboom tree or choice tree (Virgilia oroboides), which produces pretty pink-mauve flowers from August to September and again in December. Keurboomstrand lies in the shadow of a mountain thick with trees, its beaches are pristine and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean an added bonus here in the heart of the Garden Route, with easy access to its highlights like the Tsitsikamma (but a half hour's drive from here), Storms River Mouth, Knysna, Nature's Valley and the attractions of Plettenberg Bay.
From the beach your direct line of sight across the waves is of the Robberg Peninsula and nature reserve on the other side of Plett, as the very popular neighbouring beach side town is known. The Keurbooms River, which lies just a little further than midway between Plett and the suburb of Keurbooms Strand, meets the Bitou River to form a lagoon with its own island. This is a wonderful hive of skiing, fishing and boat cruises where one can explore the river in a canoe.
The estuary of the Keurbooms River is one of the best examples of a tidal river mouth that the Garden Route has to offer.
One can take long walks along the Keurboom Strand or if hikes are what you after then the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve, just a few kilometres out on the N2 from Keurbooms Strand, has a few to offer.

Plettenberg Bay Reviews
There are so many different outdoor activities from hiking, going to the beach, going to restaurants and wine farms and then of course, all the animal sanctuaries to many too mention!!
Beach and lagoon. Interesting art galleries.
An amazing holiday destination with beautiful beaches, very good restaurants and so much to do. Places like Monkeyland, Elephant sanctuary, the world's biggest Avery, Raptor world, Snake park and Wolf sanctuary is so educational and great for family outings.
Truly a wonderful holiday destination.
Beautiful town, loved the ocean.
We enjoyed walking on the beach!
The pristine beaches, Robberg fine foods, Packwood wine estate,
restuarants, beautiful views, fynbos.
Big time nature.
Gorgeous sea and beach scenery all around. Plenty to see and places to discover.
I'd strongly recommend Zinzi restaurant for anyone who is looking for a night of serinity with fine wine and being schooled at the choice of wine on offer by the enthusiastic patron, Khanyo.
Atmosphere and the game drive and horse riding.
Scenery and beaches in Plettenberg Bay.
