ThornForest is situated in the beautiful Marloth Park, a wildlife conservation area where the animals roam free. The bed and breakfast is located about 20 km from Kruger National Park.

ThornForest consists of 4 comfortably furnished en-suite bedrooms with air-conditioning. Each bedroom is beautifully furnished with a comfortable queen size bed. All guests at ThornForest has access to a shared splash pool and a fire pit. There is also a bug netted gazebo with a table and chairs under it.

A delicious breakfast is served daily, however should you be planning an early start to your day, a breakfast packed for a picnic on the road can be arranged on request. On-site braai facilities are available. Meat and salads are available for bush braai at an additional charge. There are also nearby restaurants for casual dining.

ThornForest is equipped with solar panels, a gas water-heating system, as well as a tank for water storage and is moving towards off the grid. Delicious food is sourced from local suppliers, so if there are any dietary requirements, please advise on booking.

Both lesser and thick-tailed bush babies accompany the sounds of the call of the buck, as well as the lion's roar, which is heard regularly, and occasionally the grunt of the hippo, or the cackle of the hyena and melodic nightjar. A southern white-faced owl may also pay you a visit and if you are lucky enough, you may catch a glimpse of the shy lesser spotted genets or the rare Meller's mongoose.

Guards at the gate were very friendly and helpful.
The park is secure and the fences between Marloth and Kruger are secure.

I love the closeness to wildlife and the Krugerpark. You dont need to even get in your car and drive to see any animals, zebra, antelope, bushbuck and warthogs visited every day at the house. Just to sit on the stoep with a fire and watch the animals is truely amazing. Everything you need is right there, shops, butchery, place to eat, its just so convenient. I love Marloth!!
