Grootfontein Farm House is an isolated Victorian farmhouse located only 7.6km from the N1, 12km south of Beaufort-West and bordering the Karoo National Park. It is a large and comfortable dwelling in which to relax and unwind.
The main house consists of 2 bedrooms one with a King-sized bed and one with 2 single beds, and 2 bathrooms. There is a large kitchen with an oven, fridge and plenty of utensils, crockery and pots. The annex is attached to the house and consists of a large room with a king-sized bed and a cot, with an en-suite bathroom and a kitchenette.

Grootfontein Farm House is the 4 sleeper main house.
Grootfontein Annex is a 2 sleeper unit attached/with a door to the main house (Grootfontein Farm House).
Grootfontein Farm House with Annex is if you choose to rent the main house and the Annex together as a 6 sleeper.

Grootfontein Annex: The Annex is a 2 sleeper unit with a shower and kitchenette. Front and back outside areas, part of a farmhouse. Comfortable King size bed, ideal for couples for sleepovers or who would like to enjoy the exclusive nature of Grootfontein farm.
Grootfontein Farm House with Annex: The main house consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 room with a king size bed and 1 room with 2 single beds, and 2 bathrooms. There is a large kitchen with an oven, fridge and plenty of utensils. The house has an Annex attached to it with 1 large room with 1 king bed in it and shower & kitchenette.
The farm’s name aptly describes the reason for its establishment in around 1850 as it is situated very close to a large natural spring. In years gone by the spring fed the large and abundant orchards and wheat fields that grew on the plains in front of the homestead. The carefully built furrow still channels the water past the house, but a short walk will take you to the origin of the spring and the impressive stone wall built to create a large dam, where previous owners loved to ski.
Bring your walking shoes and your mountain bikes and explore the veld where several scarce plant species thrive. Pack in your binoculars for bird watching or simply light a fire outside and enjoy the brilliant night sky. There are plenty of books to read and board games to play, and two lovely verandas on which to soak up the peace and quiet.

Wat 'n onvergeetlike aand.
Hierdie pragtige, goed toegeruste plaashuis sal al jou verwagtinge oortref. N heerlike swembad, super skoon huis en Karoo-gasvryheid het vir ons gewag na 'n lang dag op die pad. Die dekor en. hout meubels is onverbeterlik en spreek van die omgewing waarin dit geleë is. Ons kon ongelukkig net een aand bly, maar sal beslis terug wees vir 'n langer, volbloed-plaaskuier.
The house is beautiful and spacious. Beds were so comfortable. A real adventure driving there! Dean greeted us and was so helpful with suggestions. The stargazing at night was simply magical. Highly recommend and would love to return one day.

Ons was SO BEVOORREG om die Karoo op sy mooiste te kon beleef - BAIE DANKIE, Hilmar en Tonia, dat ons in jul paradys kon deel! Die gastehuis is SO smaakvol gerestoureer, en PERFEK netjies. Die huis is ook baie gerieflik ingerig, en die snoesige warm beddens en binnebraai 'n wenner! Ons is jammer dat ons net een nag kon bly - volgende keer kom ons BESLIS langer! Kobus en Marlene
This was one of the best, well equipped, tasteful guest farms I ever stayed at. The indoor braai was an absolute winner! To enjoy the tranquility, clear starry sky and Karoo beauty in this neat luxurious home was amazing!
