This is the beach holiday house you have been looking for! The design and layout of this airy and tastefully decorated beachfront house in Kangela Estate, in the village of Ponte Malongane, has everything you want for an easy and relaxed holiday! There is plenty of opportunity for fun in the sun at the beach or the pool, time with friends in the spacious living areas, and private, quiet time in the 4 stand-alone, en-suite and glass-fronted bedroom chalets, each with their own wooden walkways and lovely views into the sand forest.

The main lodge consists of a spacious and light open-plan living area which flows onto a big deck and sitting area with gorgeous sea views. The dining room table seats 12 people comfortably and connects the well-equipped kitchen to the comfy sitting room and bar (with 2 fridges) There is also a 5th bedroom (twin beds and a substantial/adult bunk bed) with its bathroom in the main lodge. Two of the 4 separate bedroom chalets have king beds and the other 2 have twin beds making 12 beds in total (10 adults) We do not have a TV.

All the bedrooms are made up of white percale linen and have towels, there are mozzie nets on the sliding doors and windows and each room has a ceiling fan. Please take your beach towels. The toilets work on a septic tank so please use them accordingly. Our hot water runs on a solar system with an electric backup with the bedroom below the pool area the last on the hot water line so it might take a little longer for the hot water to get there. There is a beach shower attached to the tree on the landing below the pool deck with a tap on the railing. The water in the house is just below potable, there is a small filtered drinking water tap next to the prep bowl on the kitchen island. There are 2 fridges, a chest-deep freeze and an ice maker in the pantry, a gas hob with an electric oven, a dishwasher, and a washing machine in the kitchen. As well as a kettle, ice machine, toaster, plunger, and microwave. Downstairs, next to the pool, there is a gas and a charcoal braai as well as an outside boma. Wood can be bought from the village or bring your charcoal. Please do not collect wood from the forest. Two red and yellow kayaks may be used which are kept on the racks under room 4. Please rinse and return them to the racks if you use them.

Tollie is our housekeeper and she is assisted by Francisco, who does most of the outside work. They work from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm with a lunch break. They clean, make beds, carry things to the beach, and can help with food preparation but they don't cook. Tollie works exclusively for us - her wages are R150.00 per day, including the day of arrival and the day of departure. Fransisco works jointly between our house and the house next door and must be paid R65.00 per day. Tipping is at your discretion but it would be appreciated if you tipped the staff over and above their set wages. Tollie will do personal laundry for you if required but please tip her separately for this. She will collect the keys from the office/reception and open the house on the day of your arrival. There are no safes so we suggest you keep all valuables locked in your car. There is a generator in case of power cuts.

The circular Red Duiker Trail through the sand forest with many labeled trees is worth doing. The trail starts opposite the entrance to House no 3 (next door) and ends at the back of the Reception. As snakes are fairly common in a forest environment, we suggest you keep the bedroom doors closed and be aware of them on the walkways. The monkeys on the estate are becoming a nuisance so please keep all food in the pantry with the door closed and close all the outside doors and windows when you leave the main lodge.

Kangela Estate is run by our management team of Anibal and Herman who are very friendly and helpful and will be able to assist with any issues or questions during your stay. They operate from the Reception or office building on the Estate. Should you require a transfer from the Kosi Bay border they will be able to arrange this for you too.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

**Please be advised that you will need a 4x4 vehicle to gain access to the property due to the sandy roads.**

Tollie works exclusively for us and a compulsory daily tip of MZN 500 / R150 must be paid directly to her, including the day you arrive and the day you leave. Great place to visit, heading back in a couple of months. Bars/restaurants - 360, Ninho's, Drunken Clam, Sunset shack were our favourites and have great staff.

360 bar was really nice, as the name suggests the view was incredible. Further towards Ponta du Ora is die Malboerbar. This was probably the best bar we went to in terms of prices, food and the vibe.

Fabulous. 4 out of 5

We enjoyed nature, quietness, being without TV, playing board games, driving around in sandy roads to explore, watching the whales from our deck, visit the local little shops.
