Sasi Bush Lodge luxury tented bush camp is situated on Kilburn Private Game Farm in the Northern Drakensberg of Kwa Zulu-Natal. The lodge overlooks the mighty Tugela Waterfalls which spills over the magnificent Drakensberg Mountain range to form the highest waterfalls in the world- 983 meters!
A unique South African experience inclusive of a fresh and healthy set menu inspired by traditional cuisine. An African-Minimalistic interior design incorporating locally made furniture and highlighting magnificent mountain views and natural fauna from every window. A sustainably-conscious designed tented camp, aiming at limiting our human footprint, while still offering a luxury experience in the African bush.
Sasi Bush Lodge encompasses four tented units- three accommodation units sleeping a total of eight guests and a main lodge area complete with a bar, dining room, lounge and outdoor boma. A wooden deck with an inset rim-flow pool, overlooking the expanse of the Drakensberg Mountain range, is the perfect spot for you to enjoy a G&T.

In Room Facilities:Ukusa Couple Tent - With a king-sized bed set in an open plan tented unit, Ukusa, is the ultimate camping experience.
A solid North-West facing wall protects you from the prevailing berg wind while the rest of the canvas panels open fully to allow for nature to become the focal point of your stay. With a sustainably conscious building design with African- Minimalism as the inspiration, Ukusa, offers all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. A kitchenette complete with a bar fridge, a tea and coffee making station and a prep bowl, along with an open-air bathtub, rain shower, private toilet, fireplace and outdoor deck over-looking the spectacular view, set the stage for a relaxing and memorable stay in the South African bush. Locally manufactured furniture and uninterrupted views contribute to the luxuriousness.
Jujube Couple Tent - Nestled in the canopy of indigenous trees, the Buffalo-Thorn Jujube being one of them, you will get the feeling of being one with nature.
Private accommodation with a solid wall and fixed windows protecting you from the outdoor elements and framing our famous landmarks; and canvas insulated panels which open up fully to the outdoors; epitomizes ultimate luxury camping. A king size bed with an open-aired bathtub, a rain shower overlooking the cliffs above, a fireplace and locally manufactured furniture all contribute to the luxuriousness of your stay; while a kitchenette complete with a bar fridge, tea and coffee making station and a prep bowl add to the comfort. Sundown Family Tent - Sleeping four in two semi-divided bedrooms, our Sundown Family Tent, is the perfect escape for an adventurous family seeking a bucket list experience.
With rooms over-looking Kilburn Dam and the Drakensberg Mountains, Sundown boasts some of the best views on the farm. A private bathroom with canvas panels that open up fully to allow nature in; and a solid wall with large fixed windows frame some of our most treasured resident trees, and protect you from the outdoor elements. With a lounge area, log fireplace and an outdoor wooden deck, Sundown offers you the perfect space for your family getaway. If you follow the iconic landmark of Poccolane on a clear day from as far as Estcourt in Kwa Zulu Natal; to the mirror image from the R74 travelling from Harrismith past the majestic Sterkfontein Dam in the Free State; you will arrive at her base, in which case, Kilburn Game Farm. With the productivity of the Kilburn Dam for the TUVA hydro-electric scheme, you will encounter a delicate balance between nature and man-made activities. Learn about the history of this engineering feat and gain a better understanding of the conservation and restoration of the land on which the dam was built, giving credit to the original owners who took so much care in preserving this beautiful piece of land.

The beautiful Mountain views and accessibility to surrounding restaurants and activities.
The Royal Natal National Park is beautiful (though some of the roads need to be redone). The Coffee Patch and Bingelela Restaurant were great places to eat.
ATKV Drakensville Resort is my first, hope to visit other interesting places later. Quietness and cleaness of the place, mostly warm swimming pools.
