Sit in your private solar heated splash pool with a glass of wine while watching the beautiful springbuck and blesbuck grazing in the distance. Enjoy your evenings having a braai on the covered deck while gazing at the amazing stars in the beautiful Karoo night sky with the elusive black backed jackal calling in the distance. During those chilly winter nights enjoy a glass of Montagu Muscadel indoors in front of the warm wood fired stove. Take a hike into the veld and amaze yourself at all the beautiful Karoo flowers and succulents. For the energetic, take a hike up the mountain and enjoy the breathtaking views of Montagu in the distance or ride your mountain bike up the 4x4 trail.
"Die Botterboomhuisie", named after the Botterboom that occurs in the area, consists of a bedroom with 2 single beds, a loft bedroom with a queen size bed, a bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette with a 2 plate auto ignition gas stove and a gas fridge/freezer, as well as an open plan sitting and dining area.
The house is totally off the grid with only 12 volt power and charging points for your cellphone, laptop or tablet. The house is equipped with everything you need for self catering.
Please note there is limited cellphone reception in the house and on various areas on the reserve.
The historic town of Montagu with its many attractions is only 15km away.

The Dried Fruit Factory Shop is a must to visit. Its a pity the hot springs was closed to all day visitors due to Covid.
Quiet little town with all the charm of a bygone era. Loved that they kept so much of the old town and restored so many places.

Montague is so picturesque. The mountains, the stunning views, the lushness. Always a good place to go for a peaceful weekend away.
