Monkwe Game Lodge is an exclusive private game lodge situated in the Waterberg biosphere between Lephalale and Vaalwater in the Limpopo province. A mere 250 km Northwest of Gauteng, Monkwe makes the true African experience a reality.
This main lodge comprises 4 tastefully furnished free-standing units, each with en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning, and features a private patio overlooking the African Bushveld. The first unit is a 2-bedroom unit furnished with a queen-size bed and 2 single beds and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, his and her basin, and toilet. The second, third, and fourth units are each furnished with 2 single beds and have an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. All linen and towels are provided.
The main entertainment area features an open-plan kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, oven, microwave, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The lounge area has comfortable couches, and a TV with a full selection of DStv channels, and features a bar area with a pool table, and dartboard.
The entertainment area opens up to the lovely patio which features a dining area and includes a boma and an open deck area that further leads to the sparkling splash pool, with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys synonymous with the Waterberg.
This property is home to a wide variety of wildlife, bird, and plant life. Guests can start their journey of discovery and experience the vast wilderness and wildlife that Monkwe game lodge has to offer, be it on a game drive, hiking, quad biking, or while enjoying the African sunset from the privacy of your own private patio.

What we had in Vaalwater was amazing! Things that everyone wanna see but my wish is to visit one of the best Lodges in our area which is "Tshwene lodge".
I definitely recommend it, we had so much fun and enjoyed the swimming, fishing and walks around the lodge. Its clean and beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to go back again.
My goodness! What a heavenly place! We booked Eagles Nest and it was everything as advertised and more. Gréât cycling and game driving. The view is just incredible from our beds. The house felt just like home - cosy, inviting, easy to live in. The night skies were magical. Sunrise and sunsets breath taking. Wonderful friendly staff. Thank you!!
