Calitzdorp is a typical tiny Karoo town located on Route 62, approximately half the way to Port Elizabeth and four hours' drive from Cape Town. The genuine Klein Karoo nature of Calitzdorp is one of the many reasons it is famous in and of itself. Nature and tranquility.
We were all pleasantly surprised on how beautiful the area around Calitzdorp are especially where we stayed at Matjiesvlei Cottages. There are three wine cellars with great restaurants which makes it worth your while to visit.
