Darling Lodge Guest House offers a harmonious blend of old and new reflecting the romantic name of the little town. The main house, the Victorian charm of which has remained intact, offers three individually decorated country style rooms. The more modern garden annex consists of three further generously appointed rooms with a grape-vine covered patio which overlooks the sparkling swimming pool. The three spacious suites (built in 2020) offer a private lounge with sofa and lounger, a fridge, a Nespresso machine and a private veranda facing the garden or the swimming pool.

Most rooms are dedicated to a local artist, whose work is on display and can be purchased. It is our pleasure to arrange a visit at the artist’s workshop by request.

Generous breakfasts are served in the breakfast room or on the patio.

The lush garden with its ancient pepper an palm trees, fountain spraying water over blossoming roses, aloes, bougainvillea and mass of lavender with its heady fragrance invites guests to relax, unwind and enjoy.

This is also the motto for all our valued guests. Hence none of our rooms is equipped with noisy TV sets (WiFi via fibre internet), we only accommodate children over 12 years of age who are in the company of adults. There are no braai facilities, and although we love pets our resident cats Nala and Leopold dislike other pets in their territory, so we cannot accommodate guests travelling with pets.

The West Coast is famous for its unspoilt natural beauty: Nature and Game reserves, rolling hills, wheat farms and wine estates, lagoons and long stretches of beaches can be found and experienced in the immediate proximity of Darling - just an hour away from Cape Town!
