The booking experience handled by Aletta Hugo was superb.
On our arrival at Mangwa (3.30pm), the chalet was not ready to move into. Mangwa itself is a superb facility with really good staff, particularly Proxy and Thomas. Unfortunately our chalet was next to a party of some 12/15 younger guests who partied into the early hours with loud music and even louder behavior. Proxy asked the party to move to the last of the tree chalets they had booked as they wished to continue their reveling as they had done the previous night, even though in Mangwa's information file it says and loud music or unwanted behavior will not be tolerated, and should it persist the clients will be asked to leave Mangwa immediately. A 'bush' experience is about experiencing nature in a 'bush' setting and enjoying the animals (of which Mangwa has many) in a quiet environment. The game drive with Thomas was excellent and the service on the pool deck was also excellent. We will definitely return but rather go for a chalet or tents by the Dam. Dinokeng is a fabulous game park.
It was a truly enjoyable stay. The best part about Mangwa Valley Lodge is their staff.....nothing was ever too much for them and they made always sure we as their guests were happy. It's a beautiful and serene place, one can truly relax and reload one's soul in the bush! Will definitely be back.
Absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect. The service was brilliant, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Benjamin is a rare find. What a wonderful person. An asset to the lodge. Room was so beautiful. Perfect weekend to relax and reconnect
We stayed at Mangwa Valley Game Lodge making use of a Daddysdeal voucher. At times one might believe if you make use of a voucher, costing less that you may not be treated as well as normal paying guests. The contrary is true. From our arrival we were treated like royalty. The staff is friendly, helpful and the chefs tops. The food was delicious and I must compliment the Chefs and waiters on their personal attention. The wine list extensive enough and well priced. The drinks too. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed an additional night. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing wildlife on quad bikes, which allows one to get up close and personal with nature. One gets to see so much more, feeling the wind in one's hair. Be sure to rub sunscreen, as the sun does get hot during the Summer month. We enjoyed the antelope visit in the mornings, whilst enjoying breakfast. Met the Owner's son and he was friendly and enlightened us to the history of Mangwa. There's a beautiful chapel on the grounds, which allows couple to get married there and on inquiry, we found out that they offer special packages for weddings, including accommodation for guests. We enjoyed the massages and the safari tent overlooking the waterhole made it extra special, as it was the first time I witnessed Kudus entering water, to their necks to eat water lilies. A very pleasant memory!
The basics done nicely. Cost effective and comfortable. The service by Andy at reception is great. The quad ride through the game reserve with Patrick is really good and he is very knowledgeable.
If there was one thing we noted, it was that small things have fallen by the way side, such as bottle caps lying around the lawns, broken edges on the pools, cracked tables and the pools were not clean.
Over all a nice family venue, which Patrick and Andy make special at a very reasonable rate.
Yooo! we had a wonderful stay, i'm recruiting my friends to come with them to Mangwa. It was really wonderful.

Dinokeng Game Reserve Reviews
The game viewing on the Mongena game drive was superb!
Fresh air not far from the city and a nice getaway from the hussles of the city .
Great wildlife!
We heard hunting gunshots while we stayed at Hatneesfontein Guest Farm. Ruined it for us. Will not go back there for that reason.
Mongane lodge's game drive was great. Good sightings. We liked the Safari mall where we could purchase some needed stuff. We found the map of the reserve a bit confusing, but overall we really enjoyed the self drive route. There are also a lot of lodges that offers game drives. Some are also open to people who are doing the self drive route for refreshments.
The peace and quiet and the fact that it is so close to Pretoria.
Dinkeng is not as busy as the normal Sanparks reserves.
Halfway There.
An escape from the hustle and bustle of the city!
Close to JHB and close to nature.
