Colonial elegance, modern convenience
The Queen’s Hotel is an oasis of colonial elegance and wired modern convenience in the heart of Oudtshoorn – the capital of the beautiful semi-arid Klein Karoo.

Finished in 1880, this grand dame of South African hoteliery has recently been restored to her full original beauty and continues to offer sumptuous accommodation, service, and dining that is reminiscent of a bygone era but driven by dynamic modern hotel management.

The Queen’s can accommodate 82 people in our 40 non-smoking rooms (Double, Twin, Family, and Deluxe). All have WiFi, individually remote-controlled air-conditioning, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, clock radio, work desk, safe, coffee/tea facilities, communal lounge area and bathrooms with overhead/separate shower & bath, towels, toiletries & luxury linen.

Breakfast (included in room rate) is served in the breakfast room: 7:30 to 10:00.
Dinner is served at the Colony Restaurant (not included).
We have 1 room fitted with grab rails, but all rooms are wheelchair-accessible and the hotel has an elevator between floors.

I arrived very late and was warmly welcomed. Bed was super comfortable and the room quiet. A wonderful breakfast in the morning before leaving on my way to Colesberg. Thanks

We overnight here on our way from Addo to Cape Town. It is a charming old hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff was superlative. The family room we had was huge and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. We did not eat in the restaurant, but checked it out and it was beautiful. Overall, a short but sweet stay.

Just to say, there are only two points, which are to critisize. If you are intend to go to the pool you have to ordered the towels at the reception and in adition the towels are really to small and second, there is no service at the pool and you have to ask the reception for drinks as well.

But overall the staff is absolut friendly, rooms and the atmosphere are wonderful.
