Hoogland Guesthouse is situated in a quiet and peaceful suburb in the friendly town of Bethlehem. The guest house is well located as it is only 120 m away from Hoogland Medi-Clinic and 400 m from Pick n Pay Mall.
The guest house offers comfortable guest rooms as well as a self-catering cottage, each with a separate entrance and en-suite bathroom. Each room has its own patio overlooking the garden where you can enjoy the harmony of nature.
A delicious English breakfast can be booked with us and you will be sure to feel welcome with our friendly staff and our warm hospitality!
Our reception is open during office hours but we will be happy to accommodate pre-arranged late arrivals or in case of an emergency.

Bethlehem is a city located in the Thabo Mofutsanyana region of the Free State Province in South Africa. It was established in 1864 on a farm named Pretoriuskloof and situated in the valleys of the Maluti Mountains. The name Bethlehem is derived from the Hebrew expression “Beit Lechem” meaning “house of bread”. This is an appropriate name for the commercial centre of the region as well as the main centre for wheat research. The National Hot-air Ballooning Championships is a popular tourist attraction in Bethlehem.

Great host, beautifull rooms and very affordable. Lovely garden. And the Koi fish are gorgeus! Its so nice to sit and watch them. Its very peaceful. I would recommend Hoogland Guesthouse to anyone that wants a comfortable and affordable stay.

Well it was a nice experience l really felt at home.
This is my third stay at Hoogland Gastehuis over a period of three years and I can really recommend it for a overnight stay or when a family member is hospitalized and you need an overnight or a few days stay. I stayed in room nr 1 for the past two years. The room is non smoking with smoking facilities outside and has comfortable beds and a shower. There is DSTV with limited channels. Electric blankets, coffee and tea making facilities, a cupboard, microwave oven, small fridge and a chair and table with enough plugs nearby. The room has more than enough lightning and their personalized towels gives it a special touch. There is enough parking inside the secure premises. I can recommend it if you want to add the breakfast option which was well served by the friendly hosts Pieter.
Room was spacious, very clean, well decorated and furnished. Linen of the highest quality. Owner went out of her way to make us comfortable. Add an additional R50.00 to the very reasonable rate for a delicious and excellent value for money breakfast.
We recommend this establishment very highly and will make use of it again if in the area.

I really enjoy smaller towns, its close to Clarence and accommodation is reasonable
The people are friendly and the town is situated in the most beautifull part of the Free State.

Enjoyed dinner at the Wooden Spoon.
It is a small town, but it has all the necessary shops and restaurants.
We went for a doctor's visit, so we did not really move around. We found the bit of shopping that we did very nice and the people very friendly. In summer time this is a very friendly "Platteland" town. Lots of eating places and easy shopping.
Central located.
We found Bethlehem clean and enjoyed the restaurants and pubs.
Less traffic in Bethlehem.
The food and service at Ocean Basket were excellent.
